kruton
Someone suggested starting this thread so I thought why not. I don't have a huge selection of Metabo yet, but what I do have I love. So you guys know the drill here, show em if you got em! I'm hoping my next Metabo purchase will be the heated jacket if I can ever find one. The.Handyman
Kruton, I see you got it! How is the saw? What say you about it? Nice collection you have going. I'll post mine this week.
kruton
Hey is that a double or single bevel on the miter? Single bevel. I would like to have had a double but I don't have a problem working around with with a single bevel. kruton
Kruton, I see you got it! How is the saw? What say you about it? Nice collection you have going. I'll post mine this week. I had the chance to cut some with it this weekend. So far I love it. I had already looked it over for fit and finish and was surprised how well made the saw was. I know being made in China there is some concern about the quality sometimes, but the fit and finish is just as good as my German made Metabo. The stock blade is really nice. It's a 40t blade, but I'm not going to swap it out I like it well enough. Probably just pick up a 60t CMT or diablo blade for some fine work. It was pretty true cutting straight out of the box. I think I'm going to really like the saw. I know it's minor, but it is so nice not having to drag a cord out every time I need to cut some boards. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk Yeah, I've been seriously toying with the idea of getting the DCS361 in the near future especially with the new home going into the near future and many outdoor projects, I just don't feel like setting up the Kapex outside and then bringing it back in and running the cord out. I've also been toying with getting the new 60v charger system Dewalt is introducing this month and that will power the Kapex right enough.

I was thinking pretty long and hard about the cordless Dewalt. If I had a bigger saw I would probably want to leave it permanently in my shop and have the smaller saw for quick jobs. The.Handyman
Does anyone have the Metabo KSA18 LTX LiPower 6-1/2-Inch 18V Cordless Circular Saw? I am wondering how it cuts with it having such a low blade speed (2700 rpm). Compared to my DeWalt DCS391 20v (5250rpm) or the lesser DeWalt DCS393 (3700 rpm) and other top brands at around the same 5000 rpm, I am not sure how this will perform. Any insight? kruton
I have been eyeballing that blower. It seems to be around $119 on CPO the last time I checked. Is it worth the price tag? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
The.Handyman
The blower is the same as every other brands blower. They all look nearly identical. This one looks exactly like the Makita. The DeWalt one has the variable speed switch in a different spot plus it has a variable speed trigger. The Makita did not have a variable speed trigger on the one I used last. Is it worth the price tag? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk I use it quite a lot so for me it's worth it. I only paid $108 AUD. Very handy tool and so many uses for it. As @The.Handyman said it's pretty much the same as the other blowers. I haven't used the Makita but I have held it in a store. You also have to look out for the angle at which the handle is relative to the rest of the tool if you use it for clearing the ground. With the makita, it is the only one that is straight/perpendicular, which means you have to lift your arm out in front of you at an angle to get the blower at a good angle to blow the ground in front of you. The others have their handles angled, so you can simply relax your arm straight down beside you and the blower will already be at a nice angle because of its natural angle. i think the Milwaukee and Dewalt have the highest of all of them. The Metabo feels about right but perhaps a bit more would have helped. One benefit of the having to hold the makita forward out in front of you would be that you don't get your shirt sucked into it!

Well according to metabo's website Max. cutting speed 75 ft/s Not sure how that works, but thats perdy fast. lol. I would either wait for them to release a brushless version or buy into a new line, the saw has been out since 2010.

kruton
Whered you buy that combo kit lowes? I actually bought the impact as a kit from CPO. I liked the impact quite a bit so I bought the drill as a bare tool, also from CPO. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
