Cr8ondt
My brother-in-law will own this I bet, which means I'll get a chance to use it.
ufvj217
i couldn't wait for a new model, hoping it would be stronger, which it is, but nothing close to the Milwaukee "high torque" 18v impact. i'm a huge Ridgid fan, but i had to switch to Milwaukee for the impact wrench, which i love. i still love my ridgid tools, just wish they would have made a comparable 18v impact wrench so i could have kept that tool the same brand as all my others. Jronman
@ufvj217 this is maybe more something to compete with other mid torque impact wrenches? I would guess a high torque is in the works?
impactsocket
450 ft./lbs. of torque is good but the Milwaukee mid torque impact wrench delivers 600 ft./lbs. of torque
King DORK
I'd love to see something in the 600ish range. Is that 600ft/lb rating the fastening torque or breakaway torque. What I've noticed is the forward torque rating on some of these tools averages around 25% less than the breakaway torque. Some manufacturers post the torque rating with an asterisk with some fine print indicating "advertised torque rating is breakaway torque". ToolBane
Well the Ridgid “Octane” unit is awfully recent and that was only shortly after the Gen-5 as it was. I doubt they’d have a larger one coming all that soon. Would be nice if they did though. Then maybe they’d get out of Ryobi’s way so Ryobi could release a 350-400ftlb brushless unit.
