Jronman
Hitachi and Metabo have designed a new Metabo triple hammer impact and supposedly it is not a rebrand Hitachi either. It's supposed to be better than the Hitachi version. It will be built in Germany and use a Japanese built triple hammer motor.

I think the Multivolt (36v) Hitachi version will still beat it.

It is also brushless, 12 speed via a dial, plus a mode similar to Makita tek mode.

Stercorarius
Don't like the idea of Hitachi flavored Metabo told. Mostly I just miss my Metabo tools.
D W
Metabo 36V OPE with X2 LiHD would be great. I wonder if they have future plans for this. There's something appealing about Metabo green OPE. I nearly bought the 18V hedge trimmer.

Jronman
What Metabo is to drills Makita is to impacts. Metabo seems to regularly update their drills just like Makita seems to regularly update their impacts. The top of the line Makita, although good, is pretty old just like the Metabo Impact is old. I wonder how the triple hammer Metabo will compare to the Hitachi.
glass
Would be cool if hitachi and metabo shared a battery platform.

I would be an advocate for any brand of battery fits any brand of tool.
