Mitre Saw LS1016: replacing rear blade guard

Recommended Posts

I have a new rear blade guard to replace the original (that broke from an item that I was cutting).  See photo showing the new one in place.  However, I am uncertain as to how it is supposed to fit/wedge on the left side next to the metal flanges on the housing.  There is a hex-head bolt that is already threaded into the rear of the guard, with a spring and a small screw in the right side (hidden in the photo) that holds the guard in place and provides a hinge.  I don't see any additional parts in the diagram from which I can order replacements.

After the screw holding the bolt is tightened the guard is still quite wobbly on the left side, left to right and up and down.  I can't seem to find just how to position it so that it slides down & up, and stays tight and in position, when the saw blade handle in moved down/up.

Can someone with this model saw help me with this?

thanks, Bob
