toolert2
Hi guys, I have a pretty new DCD796 (about 3 months old) that I absolutely love. However, I just noticed there is considerable movement in the chuck in the axial direction (left to right in the pictures below) When you press the chuck with your finger towards the drill, the whole chuck moves about 4mm or 1/8" (see second photo). The movement feels kind of springy, so I suppose it could be something to do with the hammer drill function. I can't remember if the drill had this from the start, but it somehow doesn't feel right. The drill still works great. Can somebody confirm if their own drill has this as well, or should I send it back for repair?

Charlie
It's a hammer drill which means it has to have that much movement to allow for the hammer function.
