DCP580 cutting depth issue

Hi everyone, recently bought the DCP580 and love it but have had a bit of an issue. Hit a buried screw and smashed both the blades so I changed them for generic Trend planer blades using the gauge plate provided. The result was a perfectly smooth cut (better than out of the box) but the minimum cutting depth is now approximately 1mm, not 0mm as it should be. Anybody else had this issue? do you have to use the Dewalt blades specified in the manual to get the correct depth of cut (N455909). This would be a bit of a pain as I can only get them through power tool websites with delivery charges.

Thanks in advance
