IROC4LIFE Posted June 13, 2009 Report Share Posted June 13, 2009 Its almost world skills time, the biggest skilled trades competition in the whole world, and its coming to Calgary for 2009. I really have a deep respect for world skills, it shows that the trades are some of the best jobs out there, and you don't need to be white collar, pencil pusher (no offense intended) to make decent money in this world, Also it brings to light the incredible shortage of skilled trades people in North America. This shortage is growing, unless people start considering the trades as a career, were going to see more and more, unskilled, uncertified people out there making a huge mess for everyone. Even if you are unable to participate in the event, just checkout the website, lot of good info. http://www.worldskills.org/ Also, Dewalt will once again be supplying tools and equipment for most of the construction trades.
