DYNO
I have two 2.4 AH batteries that came with a wall chargers. These batteries may be around eight years old and still work well. I just purchased a new 40V Ryobi outdoor tool and that came with a 40V 4AH battery and a compact charger. Can I use the older wall charger to charge the 4AH battery? I like the wall charger better than the compact charger. I am guessing that if the wall charger can be used to charge the newer 4AH battery that maybe the charge will take longer? Any other reasons why I could not use the older 40V wall charger? thank-you
Eric - TIA
I think you should be fine. If you put it on the charger and it chargers, you should be good to go. I am not as familiar with the 40V system but I know the 18V system can be used all interchangeably so if you have an old battery, it will work with new tools, etc. If the old charger was designed for Lithium, I would think you are ok.
