CheeeZ
Hello, first time poster here. My dewalt dc988 has seen some wear. The chuck started to wobble some so i thought there might be some adjustment somewhere so I removed the four screws that hold the chuck to the clamshell. Boing, all the small parts went flying from between the transmission and the chuck, after reassembling (not exactly sure where the five small roller bearings went) the drill is stuck in hammer. It doesnt matter where I set the chuck, drill, hammer, or anywhere on the clutch its always on hammer now. Could the transmission be in the wrong place ? it slipped out a small fraction when I seperated the two peices, then i just slid it back in but it may have rotated some. It sounds like there is just something not aligned right. I also removed and replaced the small snapring on the chuck side, could that not be in the right place ? Any help would be awesome. Thanx. kanxrus
Sound's like a entire cluster **** happened to you. If you assembled everything back together correctly, you may have tightened the 4 screws to tight. As for the small pins, here is where they go. http://dewaltownersgroup.com/index.php/topic,681.msg2571.html#msg2571
