tooljoe
after a while of using your power tool, the commutator might need a little resurfacing to bring it back to it's best original performance. now that power tools are coming out with out canned motors, it is way easier to maintain the commutator/motor. so here are the basics of how a commutator should look and not look... anyways, this is how i resurface the commutator to one of my dewalt drills... just apply slight pressure with the filler while turning by hand. the same process can be similar to the other power tools... just sharing. ToolGeek
That's great information ToolJoe! Thanks for sharing! This process is very easy to do with all DeWALT Frame-less motors.
