n1k86123 Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I just ordered and received a combo kit that includes the DCD795 cordless hammer drill. In hammer mode the chuck 'squishes' until the hammer action engages, which is expected. When the setting is changed to drill or one of the numbered clutch settings, there is about 1/4" of spring loaded movement before the chuck bottoms out. Is this normal? I have an older Milwaukee cordless hammer drill/ driver that only 'squishes' when the hammer mode is selected.
kanxrus Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Yup, 100% normal. All Dewalt cordless hammer drills do it.
n1k86123 Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 Thanks for the reply. It is a real nice drill, nice size, really nice weight and plenty of power. I'll just have to get used to the squish, its not a problem I just wanted to make sure it wasn't broke.
