twest03
Hi Guys, Time has come to renew my power tools and i have decided to opt for a impact driver oposed to a drill driver, i have noticed there are several in the range including a 3 speed but not sure which to opt for, i am looking to do mainly driving with some light drilling as i already have a SDS hammer. Any advice, views and recomendations would be greatly apreciated Tim.
Brace91
I own both the DCF886(single speed) and the DCF895(3-speed) and I personally like the single speed better. The variable speed trigger is very smooth so you still have very precise control. I also haven't been a big fan of the push button chuck on the 3-speed version, it just feels awkward to me, I use the other style on a daily basis so it may not be an issue for you if your not used to anything else. One thing I know the 3-speed version would be good for though is if you use a lot of blue masonry screws, I tend to twist a lot of those off with the single speed.
