DEWALT® Launches New 20V MAX* Grease Gun for High-Volume Grease Applications

TOWSON, Md. – November 25, 2013 – DEWALT® announces the launch of its new 20V MAX* grease gun.  The 20V MAX* grease gun (DCGG571) is ideal for users in the agricultural, heavy equipment maintenance, manufacturing and MRO, and automotive repair industries.

The DCGG571 delivers 10,000 maximum PSI and a flow rate of up to 5.0 ounces per minute. High pressure is especially helpful for unclogging seized grease fittings and properly tensioning the adjusters on tracked equipment.  The grease gun’s fast  flow rate allows operators to quickly complete their daily maintenance activities.

With the use of a DEWALT XR 4.0 Ah lithium ion battery pack (DCB204), the 20V MAX* grease gun can dispense up to sixteen (16) 14 oz. cartridges on a single charge. The variable-speed trigger allows the user to control the amount of grease that is dispensed, which can speed up application time or conserve grease during applications. The innovative pump filter screen on the unit helps to keep dirt from passing through the pump mechanism, and the built-in bleeder valve allows the user to bleed excess air that can often become trapped in pump valves, affecting the pressure and speed of application. The grease hose measures 42’’ long for easy grease applications in hard-to-reach fittings, and the bright LED light helps to illuminate fittings that are difficult to locate.

“One of the major frustrations that end users told us they have with manual grease guns is the long application time,†says Sean Templeton, Product Manager, DEWALT. “When we introduced our 20V MAX* grease gun to users in the field, they reported that they were able to perform grease applications in up to half the time versus using a traditional, manual grease gun.â€

The new grease gun is fitted with rubber feet so that users have the option of resting the tool on a horizontal surface while in use, and a shoulder strap for carrying the unit during applications that require climbing or maneuvering around a work site. In addition to the tool, DEWALT will offer a line of grease gun accessories for sale including replacement couplers, a right angle couple for reaching difficult fittings, replacement hoses (24†and 42†in length), and a clear grease tube that allows the operator to identify the type of grease that is being dispensed by the grease gun. These accessories will be sold separately.

The new 20V MAX* DCGG571 grease gun has a suggested retail price of  $259.00, comes with a 4.0 Ah DEWALT XR lithium ion battery pack, and will be available in December 2013. DEWALT will also introduce an 18V XRP** nicad grease gun kit (DCGG570K) in early 2014 with a suggested retail price of $229.00.  Both the 20V MAX* and 18V XRP** models will be available as tool-only configurations with suggested retail prices of $179.00 and $169.00, respectively. Both grease guns will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee, and will be available wherever DEWALT products are sold.

* Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.

**Product specifications may differ between the 20V MAX* and 18V XRP grease guns.

but it is one monstrous lump of kit, and god only knows why dewalt chose to stick with this out dated catridge system. put that in your lorry and see what a mess it will make on a hot day in the cab... they leak everywhere. i use a grease gun daily and for me its the fuchs reiner that is the class beater today, simple design, brilliant twist on refill cartriges and plenty of pressure. every plant guy we know has this system.
