Frain20
Bought a wet grinder off ebay last week for a steal of a price..It has no induction motor but i had the thought of strapping my cordless to the side of it to get her spinning..What do you think would be the best method of getting her spinning if it was yours? DR99
I don't know if a cordless drill could handle that kind of mass! That stone looks really heavy I would look at an AC electrical motor to get that thing moving.
Frain20
Your right..cordless wasn't fast enough,so I moved onto a percussion drill and that's still not fast enoughThe gearing ratio is around 50 to 1 The drill make around 2000rpm which in turn makes 40 full revolutions of the wetstone per minuteMight have to do what your thinking and go with the a/c motor..I've looked for the original motor but have had no joy..Either that or if could direct drive it so it's a ratio of 1/
Conductor562
You can rig up a motor using an old bench grinder.
