Craigh9916
Hi I have the uk dcs365 mitre saw and have a question for anyone else that has this saw, the led shadow line on mine shines down the right of the blade so the shadow line is always to the right of the blade so if your cutting with the waste to the right as most the time you are then I still have to allow for the thickness of the blade to the left of the line ? On all YouTube videos of this saw the led produces a black shadow of the blade as it shines down both sides of the blade so this way it doesn’t matter which side your off cut is , does anyone else have the same issue and do you know if it’s adjustable ? rcarnes911
I have the flexvolt miter saw the shadow line for me is exactly where the blade will land and is the same thickness of the bladeSent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Bremon
It’s supposed to give a shadow the thickness of the blade, waste on the left or right shouldn’t matter. Sounds like it’s worth popping the blade off and investigating.

The light is really a fixed beam though and though I don’t have the Dewalt, Milwaukee mimicked the light which is what I have.
rcarnes911
This is how mine looks lines up Right with the bladeSent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Craigh9916
Well mine hasn’t got a fault with the blade it came like this from new I’m starting to think the led has been fixed slightly to to one side making it just shine down the right side , I will take a photo of it and post it so you lot can see Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

rcarnes911
Does the shadow line cut true?Sent from my SM-N920V using TapatalkIt cuts very true, only thing I don't like about it is if you are working in the sun it can make it hard to get a shadowSent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Bcsnyder
Sorry, I meant the OP. Wondering if his one sided light shadow still cuts as it showsSent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Drew Peacock
Did you ever get to the bottom of the issue OP? I’ve just got a new Dewalt mitre and have the same issue, light slightly offset to the right so I only get a shadow on one side of the blade. Debating whether to send it back which is hassle or try to adjust it myself somehow?
Drew Peacock
Just an update in case anyone else has the same problem- After phoning every day for a week, sending several emails and even tweeting out of desperation, I finally got through to someone at Dewalt customer services who conceded after seeing photos of my DCS365 with this fault that it is not supposed to be like this, the shadow is only supposed to be the width of the blade. I’ve got an email from them saying that they’ll send a new replacement as soon as they’re back in stock. Fingers crossed.
