  1. I'm not like you die hard paint everything red freaks, thump my chest and scream red from the highest peaks! I have a plethora of different tools. But Festool you ask? I mean really??? Festool.....cmon dude. Let's not try to hold up other lines to blue and green. It's just....its just.......THAT'S JUST BEING IG-NANT!!!!!!! I just bought my Dewalt drywall gun and another 5.0 because I love Dewalt tools. The tools are awesome and they put a lot of forethought in their tools before release. Also, I bought my Makita brushless barrel grip jigsaw from KMS. Great price....till I got hit with shipping and importing fees! Still an awesome saw and didn't feel like setting up my Carvex for a quick cut last night while carving out a hand hold on my new table I'm building and out came the Makita! That truly is an awesome saw. Truthfully though...I wouldn't buy anything Festool from Canada. Period. The guys that use Festool in Canada get royally screwed. They jack the prices up big time. If I not buying here I buy from Amazon Germany.
  2. With IHL there were none for me. The other place I got screwed on.
  3. Atwhay area ohya alkingta bouta?
  4. It'll be a cold day in hell when I use my Festool T18 to clean a toilet
  5. Decided to icknay on the polaray and went with some left over one 1x's for the trim.....put mr Lie Neilsen to work and my wife even helped out!
  6. Hmmmmm, no plans Wigwag. I watched a couple of videos, figured out what I liked and just shot forward with my own idea. I can give you measurements for this out feed table and I should have thought to jot down a diagram but when I design shop project furniture I have never think too hard about it and draw it out. I watched Marc Spagnolas videos, some from Jay Bates and even the down to earth woodworker but I ended up doing my typical......yeah I like that but.... This one was based on two very particular needs for my shop and my Sawstop, I know I'm moving outdoors in the near future but my shop is pretty tiny so my first need was mobility and reduced size and my second was to build a table that will last a long time through the use of a removable top. I was truthfully going to go short and simple with some 2x4s and a couple of sheets of sheathing. I ended up using entirely all cabinet grade plywood for the casement and drawer. Everything sized to 3/4". I am working on the face frame and am thinking of using some poplar I have in the shop. Although I already did the top, I am thinking about making the top larger with an lever hang to the rear of about 12-14" and a piano hinge or solid one.
  7. Checked it out on YouTube, nice job Jimbo!
  8. Tell me about it Love my 851 square and my saddle squares.
  9. Yeah they ain't cheap Jimbo. I got one but it's going to be used for cabinet construction and squaring up my MFT. BUT....I bought the 12" w/o the case.
  10. I'm not sure if anyone is interested but today is the last day to order Woodpeckers limited run triangle. https://www.toolnut.com/Woodpeckers_OneTIME_Tools_s/3404.htm Expensive but real high quality with very tight tolerances. I've got a few of their lay out tools and like them very much. Some of the stuff they have is pretty crazy (parallel guides for Festool.....!!!geeeeeeesh wicked expensive) but what I have I use quite a bit and they'll last a lifetime.
  11. Oh yeah....I do carry guns around at work so...... nobody screws......with Chris's tools!!!!!! Hey! I'm a poet....and I didn't even know it!!!!
  12. Just to reiterate what Rich said, a few years ago here, I had a post going on this. It applies to everything you own really including heavy equipment..... http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/1376-stolen-equipment/?hl=stolen I don't lend out any of my nice tools but I don't work professionally in the trades so don't have the same problems some guys here might have but the post should help guide some of you. As far as friends and family goes, I love my brothers and my next one in line is one of my best friends but he doesn't get to use my tools. He's a pro plumber and I've lent him a tool for literally five minutes and it comes back wrecked. Therefore when we do a project he uses his tools. I use his tools and mine. I'm anal about my tools and marking them has not had to happen but I keep an online inventory with the manufacturers every time I get a new tool. It helps for warranty and insurance.
  13. Wigwag, there is this stuff called Alure at HD. It is a vinyl planking. I used it in my kitchen and addition. Looks just like cherry flooring and is scored easily with a razor and you can easily cut out around curves or whatever. Additionally it is a floating floor system and I used some water proof caulking around my kitchen sink and rear door to prevent water from getting into the subfloor. Anyways the reason I bring this up is j will be smashing out the tile in my bath room and replacing it with Alure tile. Comes in planks, has texture and grout lines but goes together in planks in the same fashion plus it's waterproof. You can lay it right over the existing floor also. I've had mine down since installation for about eight years. Very durable and looks great.
  14. Fantastic job and I love the way you built the casement. Never seen it don't like that. That island must be rock solid. What did you end up using for the butcher block top as a finish? Great job and welcome to the forum!
  15. Awesome stuff Ron! Welcome to the forum dude. This will become your self help, self medicating site. WE ARE NIT RESPONSIBLE FOR MARITAL DISRUPTION!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks Jimbo and Protool. I'll be adding a 3/4" backing to the unit and then add the top which I'll be able to be switched out as needed. The carcass will be the main stay for the unit with the added power strip. I'm thinking about adding a roll away line for my air hose but that might be wasteful. Although I built my work bench the year before last this is definitely going to double as my assembly table. All plywood on this unit and pretty solid to boot. Tomorrow I'll be sanding and adding a light finish and was to to the top. I ended up using the lions share of my last piece of plywood on the shelf and the over sized heavy drawer wo I'll have to pick up another sheet unless I can joint some scraps for the back. I've been making this entirely out of shop wood and haven't had to buy anything but more glue for this one. I'd like to keep it that way.
  17. Made some more progress this evening including the addition of a shelf, an extra wide drawer with 100 lb capacity and the casters. Coming along fairly swiftly now....
