  1. I love that show, i find it hilarious, especially when they have a complete kitchen reno with a 3k budget and a 4 days to do it in. In most of the reno's i have worked on, the appliances cost more than that.
  2. materials are usually about the same, most of the time you save on labor. i have seen companies charge the same either way but its usually about a 10% savings when we do pex, but then again its been so long since we have done copper i doubt i could be very accurate. also i see you're in michigan and for cold enviroments I would only have pex because it doesnt split like copper when frozen, it just expands. Conductor, do they really lower the value of a house in your area if it has pex? if so that is ridiculous, as for my area, western NC, they dont decrease the value any for pex.
  3. I work in residential construction and pex is the only thing we use anymore. copper is way to expensive, splits when frozen, and slow to install, in my opinion, we use the copper ring to secure the fittings and we have had zero leaks and the best part is no battery powered tools to fool with just clamp and go. but thats just me.
  4. After using the dewalt charger radio for years I would find it imposible to use a radio without a charger, Im sure as soon as the patent runs out most companies will jump on the wagon, especially milwaukee since they are so quick to market with tools.
  5. what people will do, but the sad part is some one will fall for it
  6. it was just added to dewalt's website. i was wrong about the batteries though, it only comes with one 4.0 http://www.dewalt.com/tools/cordless-nailers-dcn690m1.aspx its also available as a bare tool which might be more tempting since i already have a few batteries.
  7. somewhat but nothing that noticable. by no means is it as fast as a neumatic nailer in trained hands but for the lack of a hose its worth it.
  8. Yep, it shot well, I really liked the bump fire. power was good, it sunk a 16d nail below the surface into two 2x4's. the weight seemed to be a little heavier than a paslode but thats just from feel. the only real down side was the price but i do believe it comes with two 4ah batteries and a charger, not sure about a case though.
  9. Im located in western North Carolina, and im just going off of what the dewalt rep told me. He claimed that it would be delivered by thanksgiving but I do remember him saying official release wasnt till 2014. I was actually offered to purchase the gun at dealer cost because im good friends with the store owner but since our construction company already owns 5 or 6 paslode framing guns we just couldnt justify it.
  10. I havent been able to find much info online about it, including model #, but i did get to use one recently at a dewalt day at a local building supply. Hopefully Dan and Eric will review it when they get ahold of it. From my limited use of it I think I like it. Its a bit heavier than the paslode but as for power I would call it comperable. finally the price the rep told me was 500 which was a little steap especially since earliest delivery was thanksgiving. Anyways if someone has had more use with it or has some specs please chime in.
  11. I have had the kobalt set for a couple years now and over all its a good set. The allen wrenches are ridiculous in those plastis pouches, I would recommend geting a set of t handles from HF. However the best part is the ratchets, these things are tough, like 3ft pipe on a 3/8 without breaking. The same cant be said for my craftsman set, they break everytime. Now you could say they both have a lifetime warranty so if it breaks what does it matter. However I would prefer that a tool manufacture put a lifetime warranty on a tool because its tough and not because its cheep to replace. Finally for the price, wait till black friday and buy it for 99 I would feel ripped off if I payed 199 for it. also great review by the way.
  12. Hello everyone, Another new guy here with to many tools to count and still wanting more. I work for a residential construction company so im allways buying new tools that I "need". To continue the conversation of refurb tools I have no problem with them as long as they are oem company approved other than that i stay away from them.
