  1. For the smaller roloc discs I've used 3m stuff and it never disappoints. I usually use the

scotch brite pads on a die grinder and they work good for rust but they clog up with paint so keep that in mind. I wouldn't reccomend them with a grinder, I would use something like this https://www.amazon.com/Paint-Rust-Stripping-Cup-Wheel/dp/B008GS91TE. They do make the scotch brite type discs for an angle grinder but you need to get a backing pad and for just a bit more you can get these which I think do a better job with an angle grinder

Oregon weather is easy on cars

I'm suprised it is. My uncle bought an 85 Chevy truck up there and it didn't have any rust whatsoever. I figured if they are this bad in Missouri where I'm at then they must be Swiss cheese there.

  3. When I got my m18 impacts I tried to baby them but getting scratches on then was inevitable. My 3/8 impact has a few scuffs and dings and the white paint has worn off but it really doesn't bother me too much. I'll clean the dirt, rust, grease off of them fairly regularly though. My hand tools are about the same too. My ratchet handles have a few scratches and scuffs on them but I keep them clean though. I can't stand grabbing a wrench or ratchet that has oil or grease on it. A lot of my tools have scratches or scuffs but that is just going to happen under normal use no matter how much you baby your tools. Here is what my m18 3/8 impact looks like now after about 7-8 months of use.

Nice buy, I've been thinking about buying those myself. I'm stuck between those or the Gearwrench set. I wish the sets went a little higher in size because the Milwaukee is more powerful than most 3/8" impacts. I had to buy a single socket for my lug nuts. I could use my 1/2" for it but the 3/8" has plenty of power. I need to decide soon, it's pretty ridiculous to have a 3/8" impact wrench with ONE 3/8" impact socket haha.

They do make some bigger sets that go up to 22mm for the metric set and up to 1 inch for the standard set. It was more money but that is the route I went. Here is the metric sethttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LQDB86/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1472178876&sr=8-6-spell&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sumex+3%2F8+impact+socket+set, and here is the standard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LQDB86/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1472178876&sr=8-6-spell&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sumex+3%2F8+impact+socket+set

Well things work out for a reason, i sure you'll get something good but part stores are nice, do they have tool section? lol

Yes we do have a tool section. We sell gearwrench tools and we also have a bunch of lisle specialty tools too. I'll try to get a picture of them soon

Yeah speaking of which, how have things been @NicholasShetley ?

Things have been busy for me. I am no longer working at the car dealer in town. They used to be a GM dealer until early 2015 and they wanted to get back to the same size they were then but it doesn't appear that will happen again. They also expected way too much out of me. They halfway expected me to keep up with the other mechanic there who had worked at other GM dealers for as long as I've been alive so how well do you think that went. Another thing I didn't like there is I would have needed to spend thousands on tools that they didn't have. I never really did much mechanical work there anyway. I either did oil changes or electrical work and the time I didn't have anything scheduled I either washed cars or did whatever the owners wanted me to do which was anything from putting blacktop on the lot when it was 100 out to changing light bulbs. They also had me working Saturdays which was pointless since the service department was closed. After two months of working there I hated coming in coming in every morning. One day the owner called me into his office and said that they were letting me go. I wasn't fired by any means and they said it was nothing I did either, they just expected way too much out of me. They really don't need another mechanic there until business picks up if it ever does for them. Anyways I'm now working at one of the parts stores in town and I love it there. I'm getting more hours there and I enjoy it too. We also handle a lot of small engine and mower parts and we also have a guy that repairs them as well. And thanks BMack for giving your entry to me for this giveaway.

We run a compact Milwaukee fuel impact in all the swathers and they are life savers. It would be super nice if DeWalt would get with the program so I could have one on my main battery platform. Right now I run the big DCF899H and the M12 fuel impact wrench and ratchet and a Kobalt 24v 3/8 impact wrench. Between those and hand tools and a ton of 18mm sockets and 7018 rod I'm pretty well covered for most breakdowns.

They did come out with one but like Jimbo said it isn't as powerful as the m18 wrench. They just swapped a 3/8 anvil into one of the brushless impact drivers. I think they said 150 ft lbs at the flex volt event.

True story, last thing I bought from them at Sears, was like a 180 piece set 3 ratchets tons of sockets when I first started working construction in 2007...got the set out day after I bought it all shiny and new, grabbed the smallest ratchet and put my socket on to loosen the screw on a large fernco. Hardly a demanding task.

Went through all three of those ratchets before I got all 4 screws loose on a fockin' fernco. Never seen anything like it. First one just spun free after the 3rd stroke, wouldn't engage anymore, second one wouldn't turn from tighten to loosen even with a pair of plyers, and the third and largest of the 3 was skipping teeth, it would catch, spin, catch, spin, unless I was holding the dial in place to keep it engaged.

I proceeded to lose my shit and pepper the treeline with the entire kit. And before someone says I could have taken it back, I know...but it became a matter of principle at that point. It had to be destroyed and returned to the earth from which it came like the ring to the fires of Mordor.

Never. Again. I went out and bought a standard and metric set of deep sockets by Husky for chump change in comparison and have managed to break 1 (3/4" on a nut I later saw was spot welded, don't judge me) with the impact gun in 9 years.

Try attempting to put heads on an engine and the only ratchet at hand was a 3/8 craftsman ratchet. My dad and I were putting an engine together for one of his friends at his place and we made the mistake of not bringing some of our tools down there. That was a massive mistake. That thing would constantly skip teeth and it drove me insane. I don't understand how they can make a ratchet that bad. Even the harbor freight ratchets I have are a joy to use compared to them.

  9. Surprisingly the white is still almost perfect on my 2763 1/2 impact. I think the only fluids that have touched it are motor oil and gear oil and it didn't hurt it at all. It has fell off a lift a couple of times and it didn't bother it a bit.

Hey Nicholas, can you get an overall shot, including he ends of the rail? One or two of my sets are rails that are too short to hang on pegs straight down, so they hang a little cock-eyed.

Need to order some rails and clips....

I'll try to take some this week if I can remember. I think that they come in three different lengths, 9,12, and 15 inches and you can only get the clips in 25 packs but they are pretty cheap though.

  11. We had one of those 5 gallon water coolers at the dealer I used to work at and I could drink half of it if it was above 95 out. That day i sweat so much that the color on my uniform pants ran onto my socks.

  12. if you look at one with a 5 cylinder make sure that the cylinder head has been replaced, they would lose compression and then misfire due to a design flaw and eventually they would all do it.

Just bought all the 3/8 with the exception of 12 pt and shallow 3/8 because freight from Arizona. They are actually freighting them all in from where BK13 is at.

The few flex head ratcheting wrenches I ordered came from Utah. Also if you sign up for the Carlyle club you get a card that is good for %10 percent I think. I'm not sure if you can use it on tools that are already on sale.
