I have a couple of Channel Locks, but I bought a bunch of Knipex pliers right after I bought he CLs, so I've kinda neglected them...
-
Hey! I've just noticed, sometime in the recent past, I've apparently gone from Member to Full Member. Full of what, exactly? Ooopps! On second thought, please... don't answer that!
I'm not sure I like being referred to as a 'member', full or not...
-
That's way cool, but I'm way too much of a control freak to let people cool their own food on my grill...
-
Probably a big compressor and Proto or IR impact wrenches, 3/8" and 1/2".
Or maybe a Bosch 12" glide saw and jig saw, DeWalt 7.25 circular saw (XXX369), Skil Mag LT worm drive saw, Fein Multimaster, and a drill press.
Still trying to figure out if I could make use of a track saw....
-
Glad you like them dwain. That's what we're here for.
There's nothing better than enabling people into buying new tools.
Fixed it for ya...

After watching the video I want to go there.
Yeah, me too. I wish I would have known about that place when I was working down in SoCal...
-
What is best? My Milwaukee 2454 M12 will fit in a bunch of places an M18 won't...

I feel so stupid right now....lmao
Welcome to my world...

Congrats, pop!

More entertaining stuff: just did the brakes on the GF's Expedition today. Caliper bolts on the left side were T45 Torx, right side were 6mm hex. I've run into goofy stuff on my F150, like the drain plug being 5/8" and the skid plate bolts (so I can get my oversized hands on the filter) 10mm, but mixing hex and Torx is really annoying.

I think any of the big three will work. I'd personally look at Milwaukee (Fuel screwdriver or drill driver) first, since I'm pretty heavily invested already, then Bosch, then DeWalt. But honestly, go with what fits your hand best. I have pretty big hands, so I don't have a problem with the grips from Team Red like some of the girls here do... (just kidding!)

Proto's makes Snap On's seem well sorted out....
-
Thank you sir. Proto's website is not the most user friendly, that's for sure.

I was bumping around the Proto website, looking at sockets (BTW, damn you Travis!) when I decided to look at 3/4" drive stuff. I have about as much need for 3/4" stuff as I do for tiny Italian sports cars that I don't fit in, but nevermind about that. Found a nice set (J55106), and thought I'd check Amazon for a price on it.It's a fair chunk of change, @ roughly $1250, but what amazed me was that Amazon has it in the
(Tools and) Home Improvement section. Never known anybody to need 3/4" stuff working in a bathroom...And yes, I'm bored as hell.

My collection. Not as big as some of you on here but gets done what I need to. I do have a few Milwaukee hand tools but not many at the time. Hard to upgrade when there is nothing wrong with the ones I have
Nice gang of tools there! I see a couple that I'd still like to pick up... the powered screwdriver, the oscillating multi tool. Not a single 4 ah battery though... (not that I've used mine much...)

Heck, the only B&M place I've found locally that carries IQ20v charges about +$150 what you can find them on line for, so mail order is the way to go...

My old man was a cop so the drinking and pot was pretty much off the table. But, chasing a skirt or two was, as they say, a whole 'nother story!
Yeah, that was the other thing. My dad was a Federal parole officer with a lot of clients who were druggies. I do wish I would have drank a little in HS, though I made up for it in the 18-20 years....

Thanks for posting this, Red. I'm at kind of a crossroads in my life, I'm a land surveyor, but there are essentially zero opportunities locally (I have a spreadsheet with nearly 100 contact reports listed), and when I do manage to find some (temporary) work, I'm going backwards wage wise. So either I find a different path so I can stay local, and still see my four year old son and a girlfriend that I'm pretty fond of (she doesn't realize that she's way too good for the likes of me), or take a job in Montana/Wyoming/North Dakota where I can make pretty good money (both in base wage and OT) and if I'm lucky see them every month or so.
The girlfriend want me to try flipping houses with her, and while there is definitely opportunities to make some money, there's also a real chance of losing your ass if you get into something beyond your abilities. And a fairly recent divorce has pretty much wiped me out financially.

BK: No, they are proud of them, but I suppose they should be. They have a smaller set as well. I found this set as low as $425. When you consider that most individual pullers run in the $125 to $150 range, buying into the system is the way to go.
You can also get the 4289B set with 4 less pieces for $100 less. It has everything except the pieces highlighted in red on the part list pictured above.
These set are the kind of thing you snag on cyber Monday for 30-40% off and giggle like a school girl about.
Nick: what type of puller was it? Jaw, balancer, wheel, etc.
I'm not saying it's unreasonable, just that I'd have to save for a little while before I spring for it...
Then again, the ain't exactly giving away the Snappy ball joint press, either.
-
Also, I have used a lot of Estwing hammers at work. Mostly 28oz. framing hammers and the small sledges. I have one 2lb. drilling hammer that I carried, either in the back pocket of my survey vest or in a lath bag, for probably 300 miles while staking a power line in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

I tend to be a little scattered as to what ratchet I use on any one day, but I mainly use just my Snap On mid-length 3/8" drive sockets. They are 12 point (gasp!) buy they've never let me down and never rounded any fasteners.
-
(i am 6' and about 300lbs)
So you're just a little guy, huh? LOL
Looks cool, man. But there's no way I'm gonna let my fat ass be seen on TV...

Well they rolled out new M18 Multi-tool a few months ago, so I would assume that they wont be making a brushless version in a m12 or m18 anytime soon.
I assume the Fuel version of the M12 multi tool will be announced the day after I buy the non-Fuel...

After dropping my impact I feel like an abuser. I feel like I ought to go somewhere and turn myself in.
Well, you could go all Jim Carrey bathroom scene in Liar Liar

For 400 smackers, I'll stick with a known tool line... pass the Milwaukee 2797-22 kit, please...
