  1. Thanks everyone one for your thoughts and opinions. As I sit here and type this, my wife is reading this over my shoulder mumbling You of all people worrying, about spending an extra 100 bucks on tools. Are you feeling ok? Are sure you are not sick. Sick in the head maybe? Then she walked away. I guess there only one thing left to do. It is FUEL all the way
  2. Just got this from Bosch http://www.boschtools.com/Latest/NewProducts/Pages/ecbrushless.aspx?WT.mc_id=BT_EMail_EC_brushless_111113&utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=BrushlessAnnounce%20(3)&utm_content=
  3. Worked for the local utility BGE in gas construction for 35 years and have a small home improvement business.
  4. I know that the only differences is that the fuel line is brushless so I guess my question is the brushless motor worth the extra $100.00 in the drill driver and impact driver?
  5. He was a standup guy not the smartest but a good guy and he replaced the charger. He was one of best helpers that I have ever had. I think after his little fiasco, he learned the value of buying quality tools. He was always watching and listening to everything I said. He would ask me if I was working around my house and if I was, he would help me free if I would teach him something and feed him. Good god could he eat. I spent many Saturdays showing him how to lay out stairs rafters and whatever he wanted to learn. Now 10 years later he is out on his own and doing well. Some days I'm his helper now and he pays well too.
  6. Let me start with saying that I live about 15 minutes away from the DeWalt offices in Towson Md. At one time, they had an outlet and repair center located there and I bought a load of tools from there back in the day. I would pick up recondition 18v drills with 2 battery’s and charger for $50.00. That’s was some time ago and now I want to start replacing my cordless tools. Do I really need new tools? No, am I scaling back on the size jobs I take on? Yes, would I like some new tools YES! From the reviews, form TIA and others I’m really starting to like the Milwaukee line up. I guess my biggest question is it worth going right into the FUEL line or the standard 18V.I know that if I go for the sawzalls and circular saw I will go for the fuel but for the drill driver and impact is it worth going to the fuel line?
  7. I have never used aftermarket batteries in my tools. I had a guy asked to use my Pasload charger because it was broke and he had and aftermarket battery and I did not give it much thought and gave it to him. At the end of the day when he gave it back and told me that this was the second time that he tried to charge this battery and it is the second time the charger died. I looked at his and said what the F is wrong with you, did you ever think it could be the cheap ass aftermarket battery you are using, Now go buy me and yourself a new charger and a battery.
