Dewalt announced 11 hours ago on their Facebook page that the DCR015 will be released on 4/1/2013 (i hope this is not an April Fools joke) in US stores.

I use the DCD970 in 3rd gear in hammer mode with the proper bit to drill holes for fastening purposes in gray concrete (to install handrails on outside stairs or walkway leading to an entrance door, for one example). But for bigger holes for termite spraying or mudjacking i would use a rotary hammer.

If you compare the two Types at www.ereplacementparts.com it looks like they have different models of 'Armature Assembly'. BTW, both of mine are a Type 1 from 2009.

I have 2 DCD970 hammerdrills. I have no problems with them. I have drilled tons of 1/2"x6" holes in concrete with NO bit slip problems. You can drill/drive/hammerdrill. 3 speeds. Side handle. I went down to my local Dewalt Service Center and got 2 Depth Rods for them. I do prefer the lighter DCD760 drill for other basic drilling/driving- its compact without hammerdrill feature. I dont know the difference between the Type 1 or 2.

Should be on ID sticker just below Model & Type.

What 12" miter saw blade would you use to cut plastic guttering, plexiglass, or pvc pipe without melting it?

Well i took back the DW715 & got the $600 DWS780 + free DWX723 stand (with this saw purchase until 4/30/2013 @ Lowe's). I liked the DW715 saw; it was lighter & smaller. But my wife got to totaling up the 'extras' i wanted; DWX723 stand ($200) + DW7082 vertical clamp ($50) + laser/LED ($100?) + what i already paid for the DW715 saw ($250) = $600. The 'extras' for the DW715 was already there for the DWS780. So i would have ended up paying the exact same eventually. Hmmmmm....... Yeah, i think i did good. I do appreciate & "applaud" Gatorb888 for helping though.

1. I heard that the optional laser (DW7187) only works with the Type 1 & 2, but not the Type 3. Is this right or is there a different/revised model laser that will work? 2. Will the LED worklight system (DWS7085) work with my saw & can with be used with the laser above, or can you just have only one attached at a time? 3. To mount the saw on the DWX723 big long stand, do I need to buy the DW7231 mounting brackets also? 4. I seen on the internet the DW7082 vertical clamp was maybe discontinued? If so, is there a replacement part #?

12v, 14.4v, & 18v.

I own several of each, since i do construction. They are BOTH good compact 18-volt drills. I wouldnt sell either one. But, if i had to choose one model to keep it would be the DCD760. The DCD760 is a more modern version of the DC759; newer, lighter, shorter & has a light. The DC759 came with Ni-Cads & the DCD760 came with Li-Ions.

As all my XRP 18-volt Ni-Cads gave up the ghost, I replaced them with the non-compact 18-volt Li-Ions. The only negative side to the Li-Ions I have experienced is they are 2x the price of a Ni-Cad & you need the proper chargers. Other than that, the Li-Ions have proven to me to be as good or better in many ways. I personally would NOT invest another dime into Ni-Cad batteries (I know, its tempting when Lowes has Christmas & Father's Day specials where u get 2 XRP Ni-Cads for $100, but just resist). KJONES will probably give you the best advise. But my only problem is this- i had lots of $$$$ already invested in the 18-volt system way before the 20V Max even came out. I have over 15 18-volt bare tools plus several chargers & batteries. If i were starting off fresh with no cordless tools then the new 20v Max would probably be the way to go. But for now, I cant financially justify breaking away from the 18-volt system (its been around for years and has proven itself). At this point my only fear is that Dewalt will eventually (maybe years later) drop the 18-volt line & then I cant get parts or batteries. I have bought a few 12v Max tools and they do make a nice light duty addition to my 18-volt stuff though.

DCD760 Compact drill/driver. You can get the kit or bare tool. -or- DCD970 XRP drill/driver/hammerdrill.

They have 3 year warranty, if it was not abused. 20v Max has not been out that long. Take it to a factory service center. They will warranty fix it by using the date stamp on tool. No receipt necessary.

A lot of people on here want a 12/20v Max (10.8/18v XR?) radio/charger, including me! But i bet when the 4th generation one comes out, it will take the slide (12/20v Max) & pod (7.2-18v) style batteries.

The only way I got some decent bass out of my DC012 was- bought the Dc011 CD Player case mounted it using zip ties to right side & fits good (velcro straps would not wrap around bigger roll cage) get 1/8" stereo plug/cord got a CD Player with Mega Bass (iPod/iPhone with Bass Booster makes it sound distorted)

Thanks. I have Dewalt 29, 18, 14 piece bit kits in Cobalt or Titanium with yellow cases & black lettering. I noticed at Lowes there are now some with black cases. Is Dewalt color coding their cases or is that the new style?

Dewalt makes both. I own both & cant really tell a difference. Which one is better/stronger?

Not only does the built in charger create reception problems, but so does the short rubber ducky antenna. I noticed that all the Dewalt charger/radios so far have these. I worked in a radio shop straight out of high school years ago (so this might be old school). The higher the MHz (like Police scanners or phones at 900+ MHz) needs a shorter antenna. Likewise, the lower the MHz (like CB at 25 MHz or FM radio at 100 MHz) needs a longer antenna. High frequency = shorter, low frequency = longer. So if u get rid of the short rubber antenna & get a long collapsible multi section whip (stiff rod) antenna at maybe a place like Radio Shack, your reception should be stronger & clearer. But I do realize Dewalt has made this radio to handle abuse at a job site, so placing the stiff rod antenna on it will not last. Most of job sites I go to will usually have an old regular boom box playing & they do look like they have seen better days.

I have never seen a M12 at a construction site. I only seen a few 12v max, but mostly Dewalt 18v. But I do see all brands. The DCD710 is the most comfortable drill I have ever held to date.

Popular Mechanics (Dec 2011, page 98) just did a test with this drill vs 12 other models (B&D, Bosch, Craftsman, Milwaukee...). The Dewalt DCD710 scored #2 with 'Best Newcomer', with Milwaukee being #1 with 'Best Overall'. The Dewalt drilled 196 1/2" holes (in 1"x8" board) & drove 171 2.5" screws (in pressure treated lumber).

What is the model # of that replacement LED bulb, I been looking and cant find it? I am still waiting on the Nano base version of the DW908. Would the 908 accept the same LED bulb too?
