I've banned the use of impacts when I've got some of the guys and the apprentice working with me, they are just too loud don't know how they are compliant with noise regs. My drill driver can pretty much handle anything an impact can, we aren't driving huge slag bolts in, plus they wreck screw heads

I always find with multipliers that the wire gets caught in the wrong part of the pliers, either I want to cut and it gets a bit in the stripper blades or the other way around lol.

I use KNIPEX for all my bootlace crimpers, for insulated butts and lugs and coax it's KLAUKE. Then the bigger stuff I've got my CEMBRE hydraulics that go up to 150mm2

We have the same in the uk with sky and BT when it comes to lashing in cables with no consideration. They don't go in lofts as they haven't got the relevant insurance so the cable just get clipped with maybe two clips down the side of the house . When doing installs I end up presenting all the cables for them right by where they enter the house or where the dish goes, they think Christmas has come early, then they terminate it badly and they get shown the door.

If you don't like down time on tools, Hilti is still worth paying for, my 36v is 6yrs old no issues apart from one battery fault, it was back within 2days. I do manly 20mm holes into re enforced concrete, I have a core drill for larger holes and a corded TE-7 for multiple holes.

Most drills are a much of a muchness these days, the only reason I buy Hilti is for the warranty which is incredible, I'm using the tool everyday and so when and if it breaks down I want it back as soon as possible! They normally have it back with my within 2 working days. In the uk the 18v in your review is classed as a 22v and I've got it with the 3.3Ah batteries, I've also got the 36v too and they both still get blown away by the Bosch 36v lol. Dewalt don't have much of a following in the UK for there cordless SDS,s.

I've had an empire boat level, for a few years after I totalled my stabila, found it much harder to see the vial with the blue markers and no white surround, so when levelling stuff up, unless the background was light it made for hard work seeing the bubble. Went back to stabila with the yellow vial and white surrounds.

So they where replacing the dust bag after 5m of material, I'd still attach the vac if you've got one, then you have the problem of the vac not knowing when the tools cutting! So you'd have to manually turn it on. Bluetooth please festool!

Just bought myself the Hilti TE4-22A brilliant in a word, also just started using my new peli tool case which is standing up to quite a lot of abuse right now. Next on the hit list is a new vcu 40 Hilti vac my old one is looking a little tired and has lost its lustre lol.

I've had the veto xxl open tote bag for the last few years and have finally phased it out, nothing to do with the quality or performance just I filled the thing up so much it literally weighed as much as me! So with a heavy heart it's been retired for a peli case with wheels and less room to fill with duplicates and triplicates lol

Hi fellow tool nuts, I'm an electrician from the UK pretty much sold my soul to Hilti and Protool for the last few years, always like a good talk about tools new and old and hope to do so here. David
