  1. That would be a very good test DR99. Too see if the Bosch Coolpack and the new Milwaukee 5.0 amp batteries actually do dissappate heat better or that it is just marketing tricks
  2. I'll get back to you on the runtime on that thing. got some more info @ my workplace
  3. Should come to other parts of the world after some months?
  4. http://www.bosch-presse.de/presseforum/details.htm?txtID=6901&locale=en First up are Lawn Mowers and Brushcutters. they will be powered by a new 36 Volts 6.0 Amp battery. They will have a new " Fast charging bank". This charger will be able to top up the batteries in 42 Minutes. Later in 2015 we will see hedge cutters and blowers. and soemthing special: A very large wheeled portable "power station". Basically a VERY big lithium battery on wheels. you will be able to charge it at home and during they day you can recharge your 36Volt 6.0 Amp batteries several times from the Power station. The power station should even have a power inlet so you can attack a corded tool ( probably with a max watt draw. ) so you can run a corded tool from the Power station ! Hefty price tag tho =D

  6. Aha ! Then i'll have to order one of those to try them out ! Thanks !
  7. Cool ! Haven't seen that one before ! Awaiting the pictures
  8. The GDX 18 From bosch is a very cool Idea but as Dwain said a bit underpowered. Do not assume it has the torque off other 18 Volt 1/2" impact wrenches. More of a slighlty underpowered impact driver. Their newest 18 Volt Brushless Drill driver. GSR 18 V-Ec in europe is good tho. Not as strong as the Striker but high RPM's and compact fine tool for everyday use =)
  9. Haha the short rule: if you see either a star or yellow you are good to go.
  10. Then you've made a great decision ^^
  11. And my personal Makita Wishlist: 18 Volt LXT Brushless Reciprocating Saw - I'm pretty sure that one is coming 18 Volt LXT High Torque Impact wrench - I'm pretty sure that one is coming 6.0 Amp batteries with fuel gauge - Not too sure. 5.0 amp just came in. 18 Volt LXT Worksite Radio with Build in Fast charger and Bluetooth - About time they made that Brushless 18 Volt Hedge trimmer. More powerfull model and longer runtime. - Current model is fine for DIY but nothing too serious. Full Brushles Mega kits ! DHP481, DTD148, DHS680, DJV181, DGA504 and and BL Recipocating saw. All in hard cases. 4 5.0 amp batteries and the dual port fast charger. Gonna sell me alot of those ! New Brushless 18V Mitre Saw. I think that's about it =)
  12. A small 18V Laminate trimmer shouldn't really be a problem
  13. Thats a problem the other way around. For you information: Every Makita LXT 18 Volt battery of 1.5 Amp or more that you buy right now will fit on ALL 18 Volt LXT Makita tools. The 1.3 Amp batteries will only fit in lower amp draw tools. All in all no-one should ever be buying 1.3 amp batteries anymore and if a store is still selling them it better be on a very low price but be aware that 1.3 amp batteries will not always fit all tools so... STAY AWAY =p Will my tool fit a new 4.0 amp or 5.0 amp battery ? 1 simpel thing to check: The connector plate on the bottom of your tool. If it is yellow with a star: All batteries will fit. If it is yellow without a star: All batteries will fit. If it is Black with a star: All batteries will fit. If it is black without a star: Sorry.. Tough luck here. A tool with a black connector plate without a star is an older tool. These tools do not have the required electronics for the over discharge / over heating / overload protection. That is exactly the reason why 4.0 amps and 5.0 amp batteries do not fit. Else people would start using the new batteries on older tools, and without protection circuits still over discharge batteries and drain them death. Yep it's annoying that you cant use some of your old tools with new batteries. Does it really matter in the end? No. 3.0 Amp batteries have been going fine for 8 years now. And if your older Makia finnaly breaks down in a few years after alot of hard work. then it's time to upgrade. By then we'll maybe have 8.0 amp batteries. Who knows
  14. The XDT01Z ( Europe: DTD147 / BTD147 ) Is a superior impact. A little bit more torque and speed. 3 settings is something you will start appreciating when you use it. It's alot more compact. And probably more important: On the inside it has a better impact mechanism. The XDT08 uses a cheaper impact mechanism also found in the Makita MacTec Line ( which is the cheaper DIY offshoot in some countries ). Go for the XDT01Z and you'll have one of the best impacts on the market at the moment in my opinion.
  15. The only battery that ever has a problem of not fitting is the 1.3 amp battery. From the 1.5 amp and up you never have any problem. It's only the 1.3 Amp that you find in the cheapest DIY cordless makita sets that doesn't fit on higher draw tools. Stay away from the 1.3 Amp --> never have any problem. All 1.3 amp are being replaced with 1.5 amps at the least in the current existing tools to prevent any of this nonsense in the future
  16. Very nice comparison Video ! 2 very great tools it seems =) Can't wait to get my hands on the Brushless Makita Grinder ! Gotta wait 2 to 3 more weeks
  17. And it's 13 kilograms and actually quite small in real life. Hardly "bulky "
  18. Thank you doing my best !
  19. Well that's what " fashion " is here at the moment unfortunately
  20. Hahah well the guy with the glasses to my left is the belgium makita " boss ". He's the guy sent by Japan to oversee the Belgium makita CEO. The guy with the backpack is actually Mr Goto. The son of the recently retired president of makita. ( and most likely to be the new president of makita when he gets older ) To his right is mr Fukaya. That's the CEO of Makita Europe. The guy to his right... No idea actually. He didn't speak English very well and he didnt have a buizness card so no idea The woman in front is my boss And the guy that is taking the picture with our cellphone is our Belgium's head of sales
  21. Well dont come to belgium to buy powertools You'll be amazed at how expensive powertools are here I think =p 5th pic: It's a multitool. either the 4stroke Engine or the 36 volt engine with different attachment. Pole Saw / Pole Hedge trimmer / string trimmer / bush cutter.... 7th pic: That's actually a helmet fan =D You can slide in a battery in 1 end and the other end holds a little fan that you put on your hard hat and it'll blow air under you helmet / on your neck, however you want it =p
