The ethanol free part is tempting but I haven't had any huge ethanol problems now that I know how to deal with it. It's still a hassle. I just wish a few stations would just sell ethanol free gas.
A station in Durand, MI sells ethanol free gas.

If it sounds like the motor is turning I would take the saw apart and see what happened. It is possible a part came loose and it can be fixed. What have you got to loose?

I noticed the same on my M18 Fuel 1/2" impact (2763) and my craftsman sockets are USA made. I just got some impact sockets and they seem to fit much more snug.
-
I started using the 2763 yesterday and the sockets kept falling off. Seems the friction ring is not holding the socket securely. Is there a specific way to attach the socket?
-
Ordered a 2763-20 from Home Depot for $219 while Menards was having their 11% off sale. Seems Home Depot will match the 11% off for instore purchases during this time. Since the 2763 is only available online I sent in a request for the 11% off on that purchase. Waiting to see if they honor a online purchase not available instore.

This is the best price for impacts I have found.

I'm in the same boat. Most of my sockets are 3/8 and I figured I should get some 1/2 impact sockets. Looks like Harbor Freight is the best deal $25-20%=$20.

Thanks folks. Not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate the feedback! I'll save a few more pennies up and get the 2763 and some 1/2" sockets.
I have used a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter to use 3/8 sockets with my 1/2 air impact.

I have the 2763 coming tomorrow. I will be using it to loosen rusted bolts and for lug nuts. To tighten nuts I plan to tighten with the switch in position 1 (100lbs). For smaller nuts i plan to use my 2462 (83lbs) with the 3/8 socket adapter. In both cases I will finish torque with my torque wrench. Not even thinking of the 2654 (200lbs) it seems weak for real rusted nuts and too strong for smaller nuts. Your 2653 (133lbs) would be a great companion for a 2763. My air impact (250lbs) has failed to remove some rusted nuts that is why I'm getting the 2763 powerhouse. The 2654 (200lbs) is not as strong as my air impact (250lbs) so you may be disappointed with it.

Well I quit looking and ordered a 2763-20 from HD. If they have a sale hopefully I can price match it.

Did CPO replace or refund malfunctioning tools?
-
I am hesitant on reconditioned from CPO. I bought two M18 drill & 1/4 hex impact kits from CPO when they where on sale Christmas time. One drill was pretty beat-up compared to the other drill and the two 1/4 hex impacts where in much better shape. I would suspect the 1/2 hex impact would have a high amount of use like the M18 drills. It is temping though.

I need to get this impact (2763-20) soon and can find it for $219 all over. Anyone know where I can get it for less or with a extra tool or kit?

Sears has these on sale. I am always switching from dikes to long nose pliers. Wonder if these are any good.

After my trip to HD Saturday to get a gallon of primer and coming home with the Ridgid 12 volt combo kit. Today I go to HD for a new flood light bulb for the back deck and a few paint trays. Well I am walking along minding my own business and see the clearance section and figure well I have to stop. I find a 2 pack of Ridgid 12 volt 4 Ah batteries for $49.00. So I do have the bulb and paint trays and grab the batteries and head up front. But you have to walk down the tool section right? And I pass the Random Orbit Sanders and stop to look and decide I need a new one. So my trip for the bulb and paint trays has me leaving with the batteries and a Random Orbit Sander. I still blame all of you. I need to stay out of HD for a while.
Just have your wife take you to HD to look for carpet & tile.
The bad memories. Kept me out of HD for a month!

Can't you get a a addon to put on your existing saw?
-
Haha I still have some willpower to resist the Fuel stuff. Although, not much, I got into the m12 stuff too which I didn't initially see the need for. Power tools are more addictive than I initially would have guessed!
You have to try the M12 fuel stuff.

I went to HD the other day to get some Makita Gold bits but they where next to the cordlesstools. I started looking at the M18 fuel stuff and ended up leaving without the bits.

I used one of these for years leaving my electric drill in the truck. I used it to drill a entrance hole into homes to run a wire inside. One hole per job that took 30 seconds. Finding a electric plug available to outside the house unrolling a extension cord then re-rolling the cord took much longer and I my productivity was measured. I used the most efficient easy method available to me. If I had a cordless drill available I would have used it, but that was BC (Before Cordless).

Let me put it this way. Whenever I see a problem that needs fixing I see RED.

The only thing I can tell you is you get what you pay for. If this is something you are going to use once or twice a year it may be okay. For 10 more bucks you would be better off getting the Milwaukee kit at HD on sale for $30.00 Hole saws included are: 3/4 in., 7/8 in., 1-1/8 in., 1-1/2 in., 2 in., 2-1/8 in., and 2-1/2 in. When you start to get into larger sizes you can spend some cash. For what I paid for my 6" hole saw you can buy two of those $20 kits.
If you don't do a whole lot of hole saw drilling the 20 dollar kit might serve you well, but don't expect it to last long. At that price your buying a cheap consumable not a tool that will last you a long time
Yeh I just read the reviews on the set and see it is a weak piece of xxxx.
I let the cheap side take over. It's after christmas and everybody's happy but my wallet.

Anyone have the Prosaw kit?

Looks like a good deal 13 diffrent saws for less than $20.

i have both the dewalt flextorque and maxfit, think i prefer the maxfit, seems to fit the cheaper screws better. think i keep buying the dewalt stuff because they are always on sale. as much of a makita nut i am ive yet to try the makita bits.
So the Dewalt flextorque and maxfit are diffrent.
Since my local HD does not carry flextorque I'm going for the makita gold. I may get the maxfit to compare the two.

My 1/2" USA Craftsman sockets are loose but I just picked up a standard chrome 1/2" Kobalt socket set and they are nice and snug.
