Thanks for the replies. Have a hilti store nearby might go and get a feel for some of there smaller demo hammers. I know they also offer to come on site and demonstrate there tools but think that might give my client the feeling there paying for it, which they would be right too ?

You'll have to be more specific as to what is light enough for your purpose. What weight range do you think you can handle for the task? 10, 15, 25lb class?
Thats what i am unsure of. I dont know which weight class is sufficient for all day plaster stripping. If you look at most descriptions on small demo hammers it says plaster stripping/light chipping tile removal etc but i wouldn't trust some of the lighter ones to carry out the taskgor hours on end

Hi folks,
Ive a job coming up which involves stripping sand and cement render from an old granite wall. Looking to purchase a decent demo hammer for the job, something light enough but that can handle extensive work. Price range isnt a huge factor if i get a far superior machine for an extra couple of hundred id be happy to pay it.

To any of the Irish members or even European members Screwfix are having a nice bargain
DEWALT DCF899P2 for €210

Tried purchasing but unavailable. I reckon it was an error. We never get good deals, was too good to be true

Great price. Thanks for that.

Dont bother with the bag even for the cordless version. Anytime i use it the chippings just clog up inside the plane and come back out where the blades are giving you a bad finish. I never got a blockage without the bag or when connected to a vac

The Yellow Top Flexvolt 9 ah battery 2 pack is on Amazon for 299.99
Why do you state that they are yellow top? Does that mean something specific rather than the top just being yellow?

Dont buy bosch green, there a diy line of tools and i couldn't see them surviving the task you need it for.

It could do with a power upgrade for sure, well at least the EU version. Its the first time ive been unimpressed with a dewalt tool. I am using there own brand of blade but have no other choice, we cant get diablo blades. Thinking of changing to the flexvolt 216mm saw.

Thats disappointing the fuel gauge shit out so soon, I've become so dependent on them
And I'm also a huge fan of the fuel gauge. Sold off all my makita 5amps and replaced them with the new fuel gauge versions.

Yea they were only past a year old aswell. I honestly think the multitool vibrations is what done it, I noticed them go faulty after using that consistently. Anyway I was able to sell them on a local buy and sell site for what I could order two new ones from the U.K for, I stated in the ad that they had faulty gauges but worked besides that.

The battery charge indicator on the packs could be faulty, this is not uncommon and widely documented, contact DeWalt customer service and they will a) email you a paid postage lable for replacement or b ) just send you a new one asking you to "dispose" of the faultly packs(really they are probably just fine but no charge indicator). Good luck
Since he mentioned 18v I'm taking it he's in Europe so this won't work if the batteries are over a year old as I tried it and was told batteries are only covered by a 1 year warranty. Both my 5 amp batteries fuel gauges stopped working completely but the batteries still worked fine

I own a transit myself and what I'd do for a high roof. Bumped my head too many times. Great vans by the way

Seems strange that all 3 chargers would be faulty, did this just happen overnight or did it start with one battery and follow on to the others?. Have you left your batteries empty for long periods?

Man the European looks like a way better product. US is getting the toy version.
Like we got with the 20v mitresaw, are they made in different countries or what's the reason behind it?

They made them with the other cells to keep price point down and hit the market sooner as far as I know.
Current draw off of a 10 cell pack (even with 20700) could be too high for the table saw or 12" mitre (just speculation on my part).
Eliminating the current FlexVolt 2.0/6.0 and having FlexVolt compatibility with a pack the size of this XR 6.0 would have been ideal though.
Do u think they will make the 3.0 flexvolt using 20700, I'm so tempted to start buying flexvolt stuff but being patient to see how things play out. Like the talk of the power adapter for the 60v tools and what new tools 2017 will bring

So would this 20v 6.0 have more runtime than the flexvolt or are they identical in cells, rows etc

Same. I'm not sure a 6.0 will fit in my toughsystem radio...
I doubt it and it will be awkward in some tools aswell like the sds dch273 which won't sit flat with the extra height of the 6ah. Wonder was that any reason for the release of the d handle

That clears up that earlier topic

So I forget where I read/heard this but is it true? Is Dewalt completely converting to the 20V/60V and no longer producing the smaller single voltage pack in anything above 5ah?
There has been 6ah 20v batteries revealed. Not sure of release dates yet

Yeah, I know...The thing is I'm very accustomed to the left blade, especially since I'm more likely to grab the 6 1/2 most of the time. I have 2 DW364Ks for the heavy duty stuff, so I'm covered on the right blade thing.
So, did you ever try the DCB361 2ah, or just the DCB360 4ah?
Is there nobody offering a rebuild service where u are? Couple of places in Ireland do it, haven't had use for them yet lucky enough

I've been using the dewalt a while (European model) not overly impressed by its power when cutting 2x materials, but it gets the job done. I've been actually contemplating going for the 54v flexvolt model only available in Europe though I think.
