Also the 745 arbor is too short for a dado. I had the 745, great saw, light easy to move and well made and the fence is rock solid but that arbor would only allow for a double stacked blade.

I've never had use for a dado stack yet Chris but always like to have the option to do extra things. Besides the extra rip capacity does the bigger saw have any other advantages over the 745 like is it more powerful or are they basically the same saw but ones bigger

Just watched a video about the FlexVolt table saw and the guy mentioned Dewalt is working on a power adapter for the table saw. He said look out for it in 9 months or so. The video was posted on August 5th so I'm guessing in around 5 months we should at least get some more information about a power adapter for the table saw. Don't know if we will actually get an adapter then. The reason Dewalt was unable to provide an adapter for the table saw was because of the added challenge converting 120v power to 60v. The miter saw didn't have this issue because it already was a 120v tool and needed no conversion. I wonder if the adapter for the table saw would work with other 60v tools. Does anyone think Dewalt wont make an adapter and instead make a 120v table saw? Should they make both a 60v adapter and a 120v table saw? What do you guys think? Also what about the Europe market that runs on 240v?

I mentioned this in a post earlier, if they were bringing an adapter out it would be the biggest selling point for me but curious to how it would work myself like for example if I had a 110v dewalt vacuum will I be able to plug it into the power take off socket on the vacuum. Any input appreciated

  3. So I'm in 3 minds as which one to get. Basically my needs would be ripping down 2x and less thicker materials. Not necessarily sheet materials as I'd use my track saw for that purpose. I'm slightly concerned about the flexvolts power even though I've seen it rip 2x material with ease but that's been done with a brand new blade each time. I'm guessing runtime would decrease rapidly as the blade dulls and the other negative would be hooking upto an extractor as you wouldn't have a plug to plug into the extractor. Is it true they are bringing out a power source as mentioned in concord carpenters review which would solve both concerns I have meaning I could buy the flexvolt. Then when it comes to the other two (dw745 and dwe7491) is the 745 lacking in features being an earlier model. I know it has smaller ripping capacity but again that's not a huge concern. Any opinions be greatly appreciated

Thanks for that heads up. I was gonna pre order. Don't think I will now. Maybe I'll just go with the Makita brushless. Cost me a lot less but the dewalt recip was kinda like my introduction to the flexvolt line as I don't need any of the other flexvolt stuff just yet. Has anyone faced off the Makita vs the fuel yet?

Honestly I think Dewalt stole everyone's thunder in a big way; with FlexVolt hitting the ground soon there isn't time for anther company to play catchup with a rush job.

The FlexVolt recip better outdo the Fuel though, which in a video I saw it did not.

I find it disappointing that the x2 Makita isn't a powerful savage cordless super Sawzall type saw. More runtime isn't worth it in my opinion. Changing batteries is pretty quick and easy. The extra weight would annoy me more than battery swapping twice as often.

Is there a head to head between the flexvolt and sawzall? Can you link the video you seen?

  6. I went onto mydewalt today to print out the certificates for tools I registered for the 3 year warranty and my dcp580 plane is only showing a standard 1 year warranty where everything else is showing the 3 year and allows me to download a certificate. Why can I not with the plane as I registered within 30 days of purchase and done everything the same I done with my other tools. I filled in the enquiry form on there website explaining the issue and am awaiting reply. Has anyone ever had this issue or contacted dewalt through the website enquiry

What comps saying is switch to Milwaukee and you'll be good hahaha!

Also use s t10 security bit for that screw since it's a t10 security screw !!

Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

Id get festool for a similar price to milwaukee here ha,

i was thinking it might be just dust causing the issue because i had the faulty battery on my multitool cutting plasterboard when the issue occurred as far as i remember so was thinking just opening and cleaning it out would resolve it.

    Did you try contacting DeWalt?

I believe i did once before for something and the only choice i had here in Ireland was going through this power tool supplier that basically works out of a hardware store, hes the official dewalt repair centre and i left my number with him numerous times for different things and he never once got back to me.

there is no need for receipt with Milwaukee products they will go by date of Manufacture so unless you got a 5.0 battery long before they came out you should be good....lol

Thanks Comp but this is Dewalt and I am in Ireland where we have one official dewalt repair centre which ive heard a few horror stories about.

  10. So as the title says, the fuel gauge no longer works on one of my 5ah battery packs and i am wondering has it happened to anyone else and if its an easy repair or if people think im better off dropping it to repair centre. Its not under warranty as ive no receipt.

Also can anyone tell me the type of bit i need for removing the screws, is it t10 security bit

    Eh?

Think the OP is discussing the 2x Flexvolt battery mitre saw model.

We have 220V chargers in UK!

I think he means how does it work on 220v if the batteries only make up 110v. Which is 2 different voltage's, US only use 110v so won't be an issue on there side

There will def be a price drop after 6/12 months as seen with other dewalt tools in the UK. As with alot of these goods there is a certain high demand at the start from consumers that will purchase as soon as possible.

We never see near as good sales they see state side.
