  1. I noticed Menards is now selling SB&D's Craftsman lineup. Hand tools, mechanics tools, power tools, tool storage (including VersaStak), and maybe ope (I didn't specifically check the ope section for Craftsman but I'm sure there is some there).

They’ve been slowly getting craftsman for almost a year, OPE showed up first, over summer my stores near me had the tool reset which added the new cordless line up and mechanics tools. Other hand tools dropped in as well where Stanley used to take place

  2. I am looking to get a good router table for my garage. I don't need a lift, I just need the table, fence, and stand. My router setup will consist of a Porter-Cable 7538 with Router Raizer installed. This is a pretty big router so a good top and mounting plate that won't sag would be ideal. I am not interested in something that mounts to another tool/table I just want a stand alone floor standing unit. I have heard the phenolic tops can be hard to work with/hit or miss so I would probably go with a cast iron top if I can.

    Any suggestions?

Honestly I’d shoot over to a Rockler or Woodcraft if you have one and check out what they have, quite a few table set ups, the Incra are supposed to be pretty good

  3. I’m confused. Shouldn’t Milwaukee tools be made in, well, you know...?

Kind of like how most Aoex Tool Group stuff is made in the Carolinas because uh Apex is in North Carolina.

Otherwise it would be Beijing Tool, right?

Most of Apex Tools have been outsourced to China and Taiwan, I beleive one of their last true American brands was starting to wind down US operations about a year ago.

  4. Like I mentioned in your other thread on batteries, the 6.0 is good for higher demand tools like an angle grinder where your really going to put the tool and battery though hell.

  5. The 6.0 xr has the higher output cells versus the flex volt 2.0/ 6.0 running the older 18650s

You will get more performance and runtime on the xr 6.0 because of those cells compared to a flex battery. If you go into the 3/9 FV they have HO cells in it. You won’t notice those too much in lower demand tools but in an angle grinder you’ll be able to push a little harder.

  6. It was very disappointing last week when the forum was down for many days for an update.

One concern was that the forum would fail to return. I had composed many informational topics that I feared were gone forever.

    http://forum.toolsinaction.com/search/?q=wingless&search_in=titles

My solution to prevent that possible loss was to print these topics as PDF documents so that I will always have access, regardless of the forum status.

It is great that the forum update was completed and the forum has been restored.

Fairly routine happens a few times every once and a while nothing to be overly concerned about

Won a Rapid Drill on Instagram, pretty cool drilling jig, if you guys are interested I could create a thread with some more in depth pics and videos, basically attaches to your drill and is kind of like a mobile press, great for drilling through metal

This is the slim model they also have a pro with a larger capacity

  8. Any route you go will serve you well, if your going to do a lot of carpentry Makita and DEWALT are great options, Dewalts a winner with its flexvolt line of tools, Makita is great as well I run a few of their X2 tools like the cordless Miter and track saw, very happy with it
