You can get the electrics from ebay. Genuine about $20. Does it run faster without the potted board? I have one with the same issue and by-passed it and the motor seemed to run really fast.

It doesn't seem faster but maybe it is

  3. Oh i see I hate chucks when it comes to taking them off and there screws are the worst u can never get them off . no I haven't that's a good idea but then again another battery platform but a good idea . yes this Is a quality drill made in Buford Georgia and plus a nice metal chuck too ?

Nice, I love the teal. Is the Makita logo a sticker?

If you start having trouble with it the caps generally are the culprit, lines and shrinking or rolling picture...but no matter how long it sits, discharge the flyback, it looks like a little distributor and connects to the tube. You can take two long screwdrivers that are decently insulated grips(not insulated shafts), one to the ground on the back of the tube and the other slides under the suction cup cover and touch the screwdrivers. You'll hear a loud pop, that pop can literally save your life when working on these.

Thank your for that advice I did know a little about that because I've scrapped a couple . yes the makita logo is a stick I would love if I could paint like that

  6. Wanted to get into their new 12v line up so picked this up $99 at home depot. I've been very impressed with both the drip and the impact . Definitely use the drill all the time now because its compact and easier to use then a 18v for things but then again doesn't have near the power 18v have . Made a video about it on my channel I reviewed it .

  7. Got this the other day and took it apart and cleaned and repainted all except the guard and cleaned all the rust off. Already had the abrasive blade which I want to use the saw for . Took the guard off. I've always been impressed with my other makita 10 inch 2401b so had no problem getting this one .
