Ok got the adapter for the 18 volt tools that dont come in 20v my question is do they all have to be pried off with a hammer and screw driver or just the one i have the clips will not let go with a fight

They're pretty fucking hard to get off of everything but the drill/impact/sawzall. People return that shit all the time because they can't take it off of the circular saw or angle grinder.

Anyone use these Stanley carbide utility blades. Are they worth it? 16 bux for a 50 pack off of Amazon. http://www.stanleytools.com/en-us/products/hand-tools/knives-blades/replacement-blades/50-pk-fatmax-carbide-utility-blades/11-800l

I use them daily and I used some last year for work and I've only gone through maybe 2 or 3 and I use it daily cutting cardboard, zipties, banding, drywall.

Hi  looking for some advice ?  ive just brought a  dlx2040spe    , I think the drill  in the pair is a dhp481z  ,  any way  at slow speed the drill makes a  crunching noise  until you pull the trigger in a bit  then it stops , I spoke to the guy I got it off and he said it has hammer in every mode?   if that's the case why would they put a hammer mode on the drill if its on all the time??      if I put the trigger in  half way it runs smooth but if I wanted to slow right down  (say putting a screw in ) at low speed it makes a hell of a noise  , any help would be great thanks

Can you post a picture of the drill?

If you can't, was the drill dirty, dinged up and such?

Depending on how loud the sound is, it could be dirt and grime stuck in your chuck or jaws or the hammer setting is permanently engaged (You can also check if hammer is engaged by turning the drill on and pushing the chuck in while it turns, also if the chuck depresses about 2-5mm then hammer is engaged.).

If it turns out that hammer is permanently engaged, just take a rubber mallet and hit the tip of the drill when the jaws are still inside the chuck until it stops making the noise.

If that isnt the case, then you should send it in for service or track the guy down because he sold you a broken tool

maybe we have our wires crossd.

has anybody used the metabo paint stripper and remover

    stripper

I have, it gets gunked up if you're taking off multiple layers off. I've used a corded hand planer to take paint off... was more efficient than the stripper.

Good point. I hope he did, then.

My wife used to work service desk at Home Depot, and she would tell me all sorts of stories about what people would try to return.  They had a LOT of scammers, because the store policies were so lax.  They'd have taken back your customer's abused tools.  Now she works at Lowe's and they're a lot stricter.  But if your customer was paying attention to what you told him, I bet he went home, cleaned them up, and returned them at a different Lowe's.

    They do

I'll be sorely tempted to compare the FlexVolt to the Metabo if/when it arrives...

you won't be dissapointed, flexvolt is king of cordless grinders imho. I want one myself but i have enough stuff... until i eventually buy something else. Also its huge and heavy.

Speaking of warning labels and stupid, I just read one on a can of floor paint that stated; "Warning, slippery when wet". One has to wonder about a law suit that may have caused that to be added onto the label.

(The warning was in the application section of the label).

Any Floor Paint that isn't anti skid is slippery when wet Esp Oil paint. And yes there was a lawsuit lol

...where they went right back on the shelf to be resold.  I feel sorry for the poor SOB who bought them.

If He said they weren't working etc, they would have had to RTV (Return to vendor( For Credit)).

But to chime in a few months old thread, I recently Denied a Customer an RTM ( Lowe's version of RTV ) on a DCD996 combo kit (Hammer, Impact) Caked in drywall/mud with him screaming at me saying "THE DAMN THING LASTED A WEEK THIS IS BULLSHIT, DEWALT IS SHIT" etc etc. Told him if he had bothered to even clean the kit up there would have been no question we'd have just taken it.

So how does everybody label/tag their Milwaukee tools & batteries. For example: are you just writing your name on each with a sharpie or just labeling all of the cases the tools are in or printing labels for the tools?

I was thinking maybe some of those white paint pens that you see it craft stores ... writing my name on the bottom of the tool where the battery goes in so it doesn't stand out but still there. Or maybe those metal letter punch kits (kit w/ little letters on each metal post A-to-Z that you hit with a hammer in the back or heat up & press against plastic or wood) find a flat spot on the tool to lightly punch my initials or cleanly melt in ...what do you guys think?

I have Vinyl labels I take from work, I label them each with Date Purchased and my Initials.

It keeps making me weird sound when I try you fire it. If I depress and re press, then it will shoot. Check out the video. It's nearly brand new, I'd just return it for another but the home depot that carries it is almost an hour away. https://youtu.be/7RTVwxzzHhA

You should return it and ask for a manager for compensation for having to drive back, if you talk to the store manager and make a big deal about it they'll likely give you 50$ off
