Includes 2 of the 6.0ah batteries and a charger! I forgot to add! They are also running a deal for 4 of the brushless tools (impact driver, combo drill, circ saw + grinder) which includes the redemption of 3 x 6.0ah batteries on top of the 2 included!

if that brushless grinder is anything like the brushed one, eh nope.

  2. Those batteries are expensive. You can use a high quality power bank just as long as it has a 2amp discharge (Power banks you buy without batteries and you supply the batteries) you just have to have the usb to 5.5mm adapter. If you go this route though, I am in no way responsible if your batteries :Blow up, burn you, leak, vent, or become dead or if any harm comes to you by taking this advice. That being said make sure you use high quality batteries IE Redilast, AW, Orbtronic or any IMR VTC3/4, samsung or LGchem.

Wow. That's a heck of a deal. Really nice saw and the price is still a hundred bucks cheaper than the Dewalt 20v without battery.

I really do like Dewalt and Hitachi's saws though.

Nice! If I didn't think my corded scms was sufficient, I'd be all over that!

Eh well i really, really need a miter saw. I cannot cut straight lines on a circular for the life of me without a level or a fence. Corded ones are around 150 ish anyway well the sliding 7 1/4 ones at least so i figured i may as well get a cordless one because of its weight!  When they said this thing was light i didn't think it would be this light lol.

Home Depot didn't want to price match my ridgid miter saw. Said I had to return it and buy a new one. They didn't have any left in stock. So I settled for an upgrade.

Nice! thats pretty :D If I wasn't such a tight ass about finding tool deals and only buying when they're on clearance or special I'd have everything I want lol!

  6. I couldn't get the metabo mitersaw this cheap or AT ALL so this will have to suffice! Have at thee ridgid! There was once a time where I saw stacks upon stacks upon stacks of returned, defective ridgid batteries as a repair tech for HD I vowed never to buy a Ridgid anything yet here i am with their miter saw and cordless sander, guess they fixed heat/wire issue they had with the el-cheapo 3.0's on the 4.0's and 5.0's!

Both HD and Lowe's has this policy.....yet no employees seem to be aware of it or care to use it. Was in Lowe's asking if the would price match Murdoch's on the DeWalt 7 1/2 inch cordless Miter saw. She agreed until I inquired about the additional 10% off. She said no so I said I will just buy from Murdoch's then. I have ran into "Reasons" and "Excuses" from management and employees 9 times out of 10. emoji30.pngemoji30.pngemoji30.png (rant over) emoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji16.pngemoji41.pngemoji41.pngemoji41.pngemoji41.png

    Tough Tool Reviews on Instragram

Yeah, usually have to go to a manager employees usually dont know or don't care, they just work there, just keep trying till you get someone that says yes. When you run into this day in day out, you're either in the mood to say yes or not, 90% of the time someone else will buy it anyway so its usually not a loss. Just have to find someone that cares lol

I have to blame 77Ford for this one. Went to the local HD and asked if they would honor the HF 20% off and after it getting kicked up to the assistant manager and me being able to 'cough' honestly state that I could show that another store had already honored it for the same item, she reluctantly agreed to do so. So now I too have one of those flex um whatchamacallits, and my tool budget really is shot for the next few months... :D

I almost feel bad about it. uhm yeah, really...

Lol don't they have to honor it because if you call and bitch to corporate they'll get a nasty call/email from someone above them about how they have to honor this or make you happy. Just keep in mind they have a system to make you happy, Cashiers can do 50$ Managers 100$ assistant managers 500$ Store manager 1000$ Lowes adopted this policy as well! Don't let them know you know this obviously but use it to your advantage SPARINGLY!

    This work?

wooooo hooo thats perdy man, If I wasn't such a tight ass on buying tools that go on clearance I'd be all over that grinder :D Let me know how you like the light! I know the heat sink fins are just for Looks but they get a bit warm so they can't just be for looks lol. You're going to enjoy that grinder man, brushed, brushless metabo grinders are great to use, though i'm not sure im going to be using my grinder(s) much! Now that I've got the bandsaw, until ive got enough money to put into my car I might have to get rid of some of my red lol.

Never thought I'd have a use for a bandsaw but holy crappo is it useful and a lot less shaky and noisy cutting rebar! Don't know why I never thought about using a bandsaw for rebar lol its too bad you can't really replace the brushes on the tool as it looks like the brushes are encased.

Thanks, it's the brushless. Will have to give Metabo a shout Monday.

Actually wait, i think you're right, Mine does move without the lever clockwise but when trying to move counter clockwise you need the lever, wth i never noticed that before, I usually have the guard in one position and never move it huh, glad you pointed that out, thats interesting

Hey @pancing, just received my new grinder too! Quick question, when you get the chance would you mind checking out the way your safety guard works?

I'm noticing that I don't have to lift the guard lever to change position of the guard in one direction, it just spins and clicks from setting to setting. Rotating in the other direction requires lifting lever.

Not sure if it's by design, or something is up.

    Thanks

Did you get the brushed version if so the guard should lock once it gets to a point. Once you first put it in it should spin until it locks but once it locks you have to use the lever to move it again. If you have the brushless then i dont know because ive only used it and havent messed with the guard on that.

    Done! Order sent!

Now, when can we expect more brushless tools from them, haha!

If they come out with a brushless jigsaw, I'd love to see how it compares to the Fuel and FlexVolt.

I dont think they make a fuel jigsaw or flex jig but id be a over that also which kit dkd you end up gettong

  15. Ive got 3 of the non brushless cordless 4.5 grinders and i use them quite a bit working on my car and cutting rebar at work. I dont have the lihd batteries only the 5.2 batteries. It doesnt slow down at all and ive never had it stop on me though ive never tried or had to overoad any of them. I would get a 5.2 non brushless kit as they last about 15minutes of constant load and it can match a 6amp 4.5 corded. But if you want lihd the batteries add more power to my grinder and last longer. 5.5 would be good enough for what i do. Also the brushless and brushed model metabos dont have have a discernable performance difference but brushless is smaller slimmer and lighter also considerably more expensive. You dont need to go through a dealer for the rebate as well i bought a drill from ebay from some random and submitted and they came through. You can find the non brushed models for around 150 to 200.

Patents are pretty specific. I doubt that they would have received a patent for all corded to battery adapters just based on the fact that there are other companies out there making these so the patent would have been denied based on prior art.  I don't doubt that they have lots of patents covering their innovation, including the 60v to 20v step down transformer inside of the battery, but a patent on the fact that you can plug it in seems a stretch.  (I'm more than happy to be proven wrong on this one)

yeah they are specific but milwaukee has the Lithium Ion battery patent so I'm sure other companies will find a way to get around it and dewalt will defend their patent.
