  1. I am still on the fence, I want to migrate over to take advantage of mower and new power head system but can't help thinking the value of the new power head seems off. I am leaning towards the SP mower as it comes with the larger battery.
  2. That is good news as maybe you are right and it is not far away. I do hope they go with a different design though. That thing looks more like a toy than a rugged piece of equipment. It needs more than just a yellow and black point job.
  3. Yeah, but if it does not have enough power to handle thick grass then all the AH won't matter. I think I would prefer a Dual Flexvolt as I am not sure a 20v would give enough power.
  4. I just wish we knew for sure on whether a mower was coming. I know there are leaks and rumors but nothing has been confirmed yet. I actually bought into the 40v stuff but as just a single home owner the Flexvolt may make more sense in the long term since you get the battery synergy. I doubt the mower would be on the 40v line as that is meant for more professionals who are going to use the bigger mowers anyway but on Flexvolt I could see it working. If not I may just go Ego and keep all my tools on just the 20v platform.
  5. Depending on the when you need it there could be a difference. I don't thing the FlexVolt chainsaw is shipping yet.
  6. At first, I thought that would be a plus. After thinking on it more though, I just don't think it would have enough power unless they did some sort of x2 configuration but don't think they would as it would make things even muddier. Right now I believe the confirmed tools are the blower, string trimmer and chainsaw. I have not see a hedge trimmer yet but wondering if it might not be to heavy with the FV battery, especially as it is a tool you tend to stretch to reach some places.
  7. There was a picture of one that even showed some specs that I saw recently. It was an internal document so I don't think it was meant to get out. The one it showed appeared to only be a 20v one. I was rather surprised by that. I would of thought it would be on the Flexvolt line instead to get enough power. Maybe it was just an early proof of concept. I would be surprised if they did that at this point as I don't think it would be able to deliver enough power.
  8. Ah, I guess I will have to gauge it on how well the 20"s are holding up. They have been out for a few years now, correct?
  9. How long have you all had the 21" SP mowers? Everyone seems very high on them. Just wondering about their longevity. My Toro is about 15 years old and besides sharpening the blade and an every other year tune-up it has been reliable. It usually starts by the second pull (well excluding the time it had no gas). This past year it started to act up a little more and I am thinking about taking the plunge. I just wonder if 5 - 10 years is a reasonable expectation of these devices. I figured the battery at least would need to be replaced once or twice.
  10. I found the link to a youtube of the media event. There is a chainsaw, string trimmer and handheld blower scheduled for release in the spring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K4FWqDW6FE
  11. I am hoping for a pole saw/trimmer. I have Dewalt's 40v equipment but may switch to EGO as I like the fact that they also have a mower/snowblower.
  12. I think I saw a Flexvolt handheld blower in one of the preview videos. I believe they said Spring of 2017.
