  1. With two new jigsaws, an orbital sander and a router coming out this fall, how exactly is 20V max going away? Many tools don’t need 15 cell power. We won’t ever see a flexvolt drywall cut out or screw gun for instance. You won’t ever need a 60 volt (oops wouldn’t mean to mislead you) I mean 56v laser level. Youre asking folks in a power tool forum if they feel guilty one second, accusing them of dishonesty the next. This fool is trippin
  2. Your worldview is saddening, and this post is a lot of projecting yourself onto others. I’ve been guilty of being a negative nancy of this forum before too. When I realized, I quietly saw myself out of the thread I jacked and let people enjoy their fun. Maybe you ought to chill and reflect.
  3. ChrisK that was a great rebuttal. for me, there are plenty of valid reasons to choose another brand of power tool over dewalt. Price, how hard you push your equipment, innovation etc but being salty about a brand slogan is silly. You’re only punishing yourself.
  4. I ordered a 12v adapter from the heated jackets so I can make fun gadgets. First up, lights and a fan. Anybody know of simple 12v projects worth trying? Or for that matter, any 12v units already sold? Cheers
  5. Glad to see some positive feedback from users. I went ahead and ordered the stuff I wanted from Servicenet, but have to say I’m a little disappointed it didn’t come with all relevant accessories. I bought the dust port, bag, and two extra blades, since it comes with a place to store them. Wheres the rafter hook? Hahahaha
  6. Just picked up a cordless Dewalt planer, the DCP580B. The motor has a noticeable increase in pitch switching between a 1.5 slim and a 60 volt. Really stoked!
  7. I’m driving through Spokane tomorrow morning so thought I’d drop by the service center there. Although I’m undecided on buying more batteries right now, my curiousity is peaked and it’s easier to just see for myself what the service centers offer as opposed to peppering dude with questions here. The elusive planer bag is available cheaply and there are a couple other knick knacks I’d like to have, such as the DCB091 and of course more chuck springs (always moar cowbell). UPDATE service center guy said the battery promo was suspended due to a lithium shortage. I honestly think he fed me a line of crap, but more than anything else I’m amused this story keeps getting weirder.
  8. Okay, last question: do you have to offer proof of purchase upon use of warranty? Meaning, I buy a drill from a pawnshop, immediately warranty it, would a pawn shop receipt work or must I be original purchaser? Thanks for your patience explaining this to me
  9. Sorry, I’m not fully understanding you. Are you saying if I buy from a larger retailer on eBay, new, that the serial number will be in dewalts system and I’m good to go?
  10. Im curious Joe, do you still get the factory warranty buying off eBay? I’ve been tempted by eBay retailers a few times.
  11. Ya +1 for more deets. Voltage or battery restriction? I’m tryna trade in some 14.4 Milwaukee
  12. Link to said deal catalog? This is great!
  13. I'm curious everyone’s opinions of Dewalt drill and impact bits, blades, pretty much all consumable items. I really like their steel twist countersink bits, and I’ve seen plenty of finish guys use them as well. I generally avoid their impact bits in favor of Milwaukee. I like Dewalt blades enough but there really isn’t any reason not to use Diablo for the same money imo. The sawzall blades are good for the price point, and I’ve never tried the jig blades since it’s so easy to find a sale Bosch set. The multi master blades are overpriced for what they offer imo. Ive been curious about trying out their right angle impact attachment, but those always break... any experiences with it?

    2x20V lawn mower

Echo trimmers run pretty hot, which is why the carbs tend to stay cleaner. A note for gas users: buy stihl ultra synthetic oil if you’re not gonna go premix. I’ve been able to ‘fix’ friends tools just by running a couple tanks of the good stuff through their machines.
  15. If you’ve already got the batteries, get a 575 having more power doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll use it all the time, but the saw will take less stress and last longer.

    2x20V lawn mower

I’ve ran Ego stuff, the blower is the best. Saying electrics don’t have a tenth the power of a 130r is more a comment on the 130r, which I limb trees with (chisel tooth saw blade). An ego won’t let you trim a 10” branch.

    2x20V lawn mower

There are websites that track ethanol free stations, price and octane. I go to a marina, which is everywhere in Puget Sound but may not be for you. Is electric the right option for you? Sure. But gas will always win in effectiveness. Ive tried plenty of electric trimmers, and there isn’t a single one that delivers a tenth the power of my Stihl 130R, and if you’re a homeowner, always buy the canned gas. Your mix machines run forever with no maintenance if you run premix.

    2x20V lawn mower

if you buy ethanol free gas and don’t leave the mower out all winter I don’t see any reason why the 2x20 can compare to a gas mower. I would dislike the unnecessary wear on my batteries.
  19. I can cut with either hand, but I am a lefty so I went 575. It will also fit places the 577 won’t. Can’t comment on 577 battery draw but I have 3 dcb606 (the 6/2) and when using the fast charger I’ve never had to wait on a battery. Ultimately your choice will be based on preference, they are both great saws.
  20. Try to exchange it for a 575. I cut 3x OSB all the time with mine, rip beams etc. plenty of oomph.
  21. Okay, pawnshop corded super sawzall it is until the next flexvolt comes out. Thank you
  22. I’m having a hard time making up my mind on a sawzall, maybe the fellas here can help. Option 1: wait for gen 2 flexvolt. When will this happen? Is it all for a rafter hook and 4 position? I’ve watched some testing vids and this thing fared poorly, even poorer than the compact, which leads to my next option, 2) get the compact, specifically this deal: http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/dewalt-bare-tools-free-battery-promotion-july-2018/dewalt-dcs367b-cordless-brushless-20v-reciprocating-saw both acme and HD are offering the XR compact with a 6ah 20v battery for $160. HD doesn’t offer it in store, although I’m tempted to try. Option 3) buy the flexvolt regardless of concerns. I’m reluctant, unless somebody can convince me the tool is to be trusted. Thanks for input!
  23. Flexvolt battery. You can run everything on them. Flex 6.0 truly cut the cord for the first time.
  24. Which sawzall, circ or grinder? EDIT found em, appears the 885 is an option as well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Pack-3-0Ah-and-Charger-with-Bonus-Bare-Reciprocating-Saw-DCB230CwDCS380B/305098365 https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Pack-3-0Ah-and-Charger-with-Bonus-Bare-6-1-2-in-Circular-Saw-DCB230CwDCS91B/305098482 https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Pack-3-0Ah-and-Charger-with-Bonus-Bare-1-4-in-Impact-Driver-DCB230CwDCF885B/305098595 https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Pack-3-0Ah-with-Charger-with-Bonus-Bare-Cordless-4-1-2-in-Grinder-DCB230CwDCG412B/305252502
