  1. I used the link and checked all the stores in my area and these are showing as $39.98. Are you finding the price at the store to be $20 even though the online price shows something different? I know HD doesn't necessarily show accurate in store pricing, but I wanted to make sure Lowes was the same way before making the trek out there.

    Home Depot

The Milwaukee multimeters you mentioned both went to a penny here in Northern Illinois a couple of weeks ago.
  3. I wish this was around when I was a kid!
  4. I didn't catch that the blower included a 5ah battery until I read your post. That is an awesome deal.
  5. One thing I want to warn you about. If it has been sitting on clearance for a long time, there is a possibility that the price has dropped to a penny. Once it goes to Penny, the stores are supposed to remove it from their inventory and destroy/dispose of the item. If you go to self check out, you can sometimes get the items for a penny without any hassle. However, if you do run into any item they give you trouble, there are a couple ways you can go. One, you can ask for them to sell it to you for the last discounted price they had, which should be $58.03 in this case. Two, you can call a manager over and then get on the phone with corporate customer service.
  6. Have you tried taking the Makita x2 circular saw to the self checkout lane to do a quick price check? I ask because all the Home Depot's around me, here in northern Illinois, dropped the price of that song to $58.03 back in March. Needless to say, they sold out of them quick.Often times Home Depot is slow to update pricing for items that have gone through a previous small markdown. I bought an empire 6 foot level for $17.03, but the yellow sale sticker said it was $63 (it was originally $72.97). I also got a multi meter that was yellow tagged at $97 for only $33.03. It never hurts to check the pricing on items that have at least some sort of yellow tag on them.
  7. I usually go to ereplacementparts.com for this sort of stuff, but when I checked on their site they didn't have them, but I did get the part numbers. A quick search shows plumb vial can be found here: http://www.toolpartspro.com/dewalt-parts/dewalt-dw073k-parts/dewalt-595612-00-plumb-vial-repl-kit and the vial replacement can be found here: http://www.toolpartspro.com/dewalt-parts/miscellaneous-parts/dewalt-595499-00s-vial-repair-kit
  8. . That Makita set (XT257M) is going for $299 at all the Home Depot stores around me. If I remember correctly it includes two 4.0 ah batteries in the kit.
  9. I have the 20v and I really like it. I have not used the corded Dewalt, so I can't compare the two. I will say that roadhog96 is spot on about sanding draining the batteries. I had to use it recently for sanding in some tight spaces and it was draining the battery fairly rapidly.
  10. Favorite handgun: XDM 4.5 9mm Favorite rifle: Would love to have a Tavor or, Daniel Defense if I go with an AR.
  11. I'm looking at getting a Makita MACPAC case when I finally buy the bare tool Makita brushless jigsaw like you have. It looks like your jigsaw came in the same size case as the cordless circular saw. Can you tell me which case that is and if you think the jigsaw would fit into the next smaller case if you didn't have to cram all the accessories in to it?
  12. I love the fact that Dan and Eric hooked Up with AvE to see if the drills could be resurrected. I likewatching his videos, but I have to make sure young ears aren't around, lest they learn some new words. Here is hoping his repairing skills are as good as his tear-downs.
  13. I have had my eye on the 18v jigsaw for awhile now. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I was all set to pull the trigger on one, but some unexpected expenses came up and I had to put the purchase on the back burner. As for Makita 18v in general, they have really been on a roll lately. I would put them right up with Milwaukee as far as expanding their line-up.
  14. I also got into Makita because Dewalt has been dragging their feet on upgrading a bunch of their tools to brushless. I recently picked up the Makita brushless angle grinder and I'm going to grab the brushless barrel grip jigsaw when I have some extra funds. I originally got into brushless tools with a Makita LXDT01 Impact several years ago, but Makita had a lull in brushless tools for a couple of years. That brought me to Dewalt for a brushless drill and multitool, but now I'm back with Makita.
  15. Really good to hear that things are going better for Mike. I've always enjoyed the video reviews from you two.
  16. That is pretty flippin cool!

    XT257M

It was a brand new model. They had several on clearance originally for this price.

    XT257M

I didnt have to ask, they were on clearance for that price here in the northern Illinois area.

See if you can get the HD down on the price of 18x2 Makita. I actually picked up the same saw on clearance from HD for $58.03 just a couple of months ago. It was brand new and several of the HDs in my area had them for that price.
  20. which Paslode nail packs are those? I can't quite make it out from the picture (my eyes aren't what they used to be) and I'd like to see if I can find a similar deal around me.
  21. My only problem with .22lr is finding it in stock. Here on the Illinois / Wisconsin border most everything else can be pretty easily found, but it seems people are still hoarding .22 ammunition. At the local Wally World .22 is the only ammo they limit to 1 box per customer.
  22. I really like PB Swiss screwdrivers with the "Swiss Grip" handles. They are a bit pricy, but they are really well made and the Santoprene handles are very comfortable in the hand. You can check them out at Tool Lady or Count on Tools.
  23. Looks more like a FS2000 tactical rifle to me.
