kornomaniac
Hello ! The following link are some pictures from the Shanghai international hardware show a few days ago. I'm interested in the third picture. It shows the Makita booth with a screen in front. On the screen we see 2 batteries. They're 18v batteries but their height indicates to me that they would be 9 amp batteries ? https://triple.com.hk/2016/05/2016-二十九屆上海國際五金博覽會-牧田篇/ Am I seeing things or anyone else has a guess ? marsh942
Are they the new 4.0 12v slide packs? https://sydneytools.com.au/makita-bl1041b-l-12v-max-4-0ah-li-ion-cxt-cordless-slide-battery-with-gauge or the older 14.4v? (Being a little shorter than 18v)? https://sydneytools.com.au/makita-bl1430-14-4v-3-0ah-li-ion-slide-battery

John Glassey
Yeah if I had to guess it would be 12v packs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[emoji41]
Stercorarius
It does say in the caption that it is high capacity packs. The makita roomba near the bottom is one of the funniest things I've seem. That drywall saw was interesting too.
Stercorarius
They are definitely pushing the 12v though. I know it's nothing unheard of, but the new cooled jacket is pretty sweet. https://triple.com.hk/2016/04/2016-makita牧田新產品說明會10-真係會吹漲的風褸-dfj202-dfj201-dfj300/
Stercorarius
New 12 multitools and potentially either a concrete or metal saw with reservoir.https://triple.com.hk/2016/03/2016-makita牧田新產品說明會3/
The.Handyman
Damn, Makita is really knocking it out of the park with the 12v lineup. New tools falling form the sky. And here I am on the fantastic Bosch 12v platform and I can't get the newer tools in that states.

mtnkid85
Yea my guess is its a 12v pack. They look taller because they are shorter.
kornomaniac
My first thought was also a 12v 4 amp pack. But the 12v packs all have a Makita green coloured logo on the side ( also in China, i checked ) and the batteries on the picture only feature soms white coloured drawings like every 18v pack does
HiltiWpg
Looks like the 14v, which for some odd reason is hugely popular in Japan. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
kornomaniac
14 volts are ' straight' at the front of the battery. 18 volts have that 45° piece where the button is to make the battery casing longer for the extra cell. ( sorry for crap english. Sometimes hard to Find words for what i want to say )
