Craigh9916 Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 Just seen the new bosch circular saw and it seems you can switch which side the blade is on have a read at the bottom of my screen shot apart from this I don't know anything else about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
KnarlyCarl Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Wow, if this gives the consumer the ability to have it on either side depending on preference, that's pretty cool, just buy one and switch it to how you like Quote
JimboS1ice Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 That's pretty cool, would just hope they make the lock strong so the saw doesn't slide into a slight bevel Jimbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
dwain Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 I don't think its possible to have a saw with switchable blade sides. Quote
jeffmcmillan Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 29 minutes ago, dwain said: I don't think its possible to have a saw with switchable blade sides. I'm inclined to agree. Using a reversible motor, cutting guard, and dust extraction with dual markings on the shoe and a symmetric depth adjustment all seem doable, but everything down to the thread lay on the arbor bolt is engineered with directionality and I can't see them making that viable. More likely this is poor wording for "look guys we made a cordless blade right saw too" Quote
Stercorarius Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 Yeah I think German to English translation lost what they meant that it will be offered in multiple orientations. IE Model XXX###L and model XXX###R. Quote
Craigh9916 Posted July 15, 2016 Author Report Posted July 15, 2016 Yeah I agree it's the way it's worded that's misleading Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
pancing Posted July 23, 2016 Report Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) Or the motor can go in reverse and you just flip the blade and the tool who knows looks like someone beat me to it. Edited July 23, 2016 by pancing Posted without reading Quote
Craigh9916 Posted July 23, 2016 Author Report Posted July 23, 2016 Found out more to this the bosch rep said the new saw is blade on the right so you have a choice of left or right now which is a shame as I thought when bosch made a new saw they would make it brushless but they haven't Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
kruton Posted July 23, 2016 Report Posted July 23, 2016 Did he mention why they didn't go with brushless? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk Quote
Craigh9916 Posted July 23, 2016 Author Report Posted July 23, 2016 Did he mention why they didn't go with brushless? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk No it was on the bosch forum they said the new model was the same as the old model just blade on the right and that model number ends 57g for blade on the right ! So obviously bosch aren't making a brushless model Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

I'm completely happy with my brushless saw though. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk Quote
