I built up the wall some more with mortar and letting that dry. Hopefully it will allow the tiles to stick with less mortar to make it slide down. I did get the glass tile on for the back of the niche. I am in a design question with it right now though. My glass tile is in one big stripe that goes through the niche. I plan to do the top and bottom with the wall tile. But am wondering if I should do the sides in the wall tile as well or with the glass tile. Ill get a pic when I go on lunch to clarify this. I get it. I think if it looks right, do it all with the glass tile. I've seen it with the wall tiles in the niche at some jobs, and seen glass tile in the niche at others. In my opinion, I thought the glass tile looked cool, but as you may know, i'm completely unbiased and indifferent to tile LOL

Decided to have the niche be seamless from left to right with the glass tile on both sides of the niche. The top and bottom will be the bullnose tile. rrich1
It's driving me insane with how slow this tile work is going for me. The glass tile is done though...finally. I'm not the happiest with it but it will work. Each ro moves independently of each other and there are waves in it. Can't really tell though. phffter
looking good. i used 1/16 spacers on the glass tile. if you havent done it yet, it's going to be a bear to get the mortar out of the grout lines once it's set. im picking the stuff out now. rrich1
Need some opinions on the floor transition. We are thinking of running the dark tile and bull nose all the way to the floor and then butting the base board to it. Or would it be better to run the base board all the way to the tub and then stopping the tile at the top of the base board?Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

rrich1
Ahhhhhhhhhhh. I was so close to finishing before work today. I slipped and fell last night when I parked. Nailed my back and slammed my neck on my trucks nerf bar. Got going late and wasn't going as fast. Wearing g a duty belt isnt helping anything today. Also I had planned to just be able to cut the top row setting the saw up once...Whelp that didn't happen. Of course I had to angle the tops to get a consistent enough line. Also some how I had miss measured at least one piece and had to recut it. Taking even more time. Anywho. Here is how it looks right now. I went all the way to the floor with the tile. I think it looks good. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

rrich1
thanks guys. last night after work I put a 1st coat of paint on one wall to see how it would look with the tile. wife decide to stick with a medium gray instead of dark for the wall tile. I pulled up another floor tile today and got it cleaned out. hoping tonight to finish up all of the tile work. clean up the tile as best I can and then hopefully grout sometime tomorrow. rrich1
I feel like I actually made some progress in the past 24 hrs. Last night after work I got the rest of the wall and floor tiles in. Today I got the first coat of paint on (minus near the tiles), got most of the shower cleaned for grout (niche area still needs done and will be the worst spot). And just before work tonight I got grout onto the floor. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

rrich1
Well I didn't make my deadline. We had family over today and wanted it done before then. I wasn't able to work on it much yesterday due to the wife's family Christmas. Here is how it stands right now. The toilet and faucet are hooked up. Tub still needs to be put together and the drawer fronts need to be put on. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Luckily I haven't had any headaches or neck issues. My lower back is still swollen and I have a good bruise. A trooper I am friends with slipped the other day working and broke a few bones! He is out for at least 6mo! Yikes!Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
