NicolasRamos
I believe Samurai Carpenter on YouTube was going to take on a Shou Sugi ban project, but I haven't really been on YouTube in a bit. Thanks for posting this Comp! Now I'm going to go and see if he did the project. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Atlas2000
Have seen this before and found it fascinating. Many techniques from the east are time consuming, but result in very beautiful results.
SetBuilder
We did something similar recently at work. We burned the boards, then wire brushed them. They were then sealed, and some were painted. It was not to preserve the wood, but to get the grain to stand out or "pop". It was done to achieve a desired look.
