Stercorarius
Didn't realize not being able to afford an expensive table saw was such a burden for everyone. You're right the government should make me pay for fancy table saws. The speed limit should be 25 everywhere. Cars that don't have lane departure warnings should be a crime. Knives should be banned because they give people owies. Only people with PHDs should get CDLs. The govt needs to keep me safe from myself. I'm too stupid not to get myself killed. Politicians and lawyers know what's best for me. I'm just a cretin. 1
Jronman
Ima just get a slider. Safer than a SawStop because you don't need to be near the blade.

I guess I missed that ☹️ http://www.finewoodworking.com/2017/06/26/festool-buys-sawstop Ok, I'm changing my position. Buy a Sawstop now. Soon they will charge $9,000 for the base model and everyone will collectively agree it's the world's greatest saw. 2

BK13
I did not realize that SawStop was headquartered here locally in ToiletTown (Tualitin, Orygun).
Jronman
Well SawStop is taking profit away from manufacturers of sliding table saws. They make a slider attachment now.
Logan
another way for sawstop to make more $$$$$$$$
ChrisK
Yeah they came out with the slider right after they released the cabinet saw several years ago. It actually fits every one of their saws and most other manufacturers saws by boring out alignment holes in the table top. It's a really nice slider too but at $999 it's not high on my list of add one in the near future.
