bentz69
I bought quite a few cordless tools fromt ryobi recently and I have some questions about the belt sander. It seems very difficult to keep the sand paper centered on the machine. The tracking knob doesnt seem to do much and the paper is always walking off the wheels. This is the first belt sander I have ever owned so I was curious if the screw from the tracking knob is supposed to be off centered? Is the front wheel also supposed to be crooked like in my picture? khariV
I'm going to go out on a limb and say no, that is not the way it's supposed to be. If the wheel is crooked like that, you should expect the belt to walk off of the edge, which is precisely what you're seeing it do. I'd take it back to exchange for another one. CATERPILLAR
The screw is tighter down all the way too you need to adjust it while running it . That way it won't fall off.
method
As CATERPILLAR says, it needs to be adjusted while running.
WHLnDEAL
Make sure the belt rotates in the right direction. The inside of the belt should have an indicator of the proper direction. And yes, adjust the pitch with the tool running.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
