Daniel brannum
Hey all, I have had a hedge trimmer for almost 6 years now and there has been some faults in the working. I get electric shock. At first I thought it was because I used it once when my hand was wet. But even with a dry hand, it was the same. I checked with my company for query and they made me aware that my warranty period was for 5 years and I should pay for the expenses incurring on the repair. But as it has been 6 years and counting. I am confused whether I should repair it or try and replace it with a new one. Could someone advise me on this if they have any alternative option for this? Eric - TIA
I would buy a new one. Hedgers are so much better now in regards to power, run time and more. Just my two cents.
Jronman
Sounds like it might be a corded hedge trimmer but I could be wrong. The ego hedge trimmer goes and keeps on going. A 5.0 battery on it should last most of a working day easy. I'm sure other ope brands would have similar runtimes.
Rick Writer
You can check it, is there any wire lose or not, or anything which might be broken inside, if there's something broken, you can repair it, or otherwise if not, then go for a new one.
Daniel brannum
I tried with checking the wires by one of my frined who knows his way around the tools but could'nt find any problem. I asked his opinion on the same and he suggested to buy a new one but he is not sure about any recommendations as he hasn'nt updated with the latest ones. I asked around couple of stores and researched for them online and came across a website finally. But I have no experience in buying such power equipments online. Could someone help and advise me on what all to look out for before buying them?
Jronman
@Daniel brannum I have used gas hedge trimmers, battery, and corded. I would recommend staying away from gas or corded. I would recommend going with a battery option. I use one for work and it is every bit as good as the corded and gas variants i have used. I got my Ego for around $200 with one 2.0 battery and charger included. The runtimes I got from the smallest battery Ego offers were in my opinion incredible. You can find others from the likes of DeWALT, Makita, and Milwaukee, Sthil, Echo, etc. that should be just as good.
