Altan Posted May 31, 2023 Report Share Posted May 31, 2023 I was looking for a compact bench grinder, of course European made (not American as most probably it would be 110-120V and not OK with UK 240V), I found some photos of DeWALT DW754 5" (125mm) bench grinder and I can see it was made in Slovenia which is good, but it is not available anymore, a used one is also not available. Then I found a Danish brand called "Kef Motor" making a very tiny 5" bench grinder "Slibex 125" (Made in Denmark) and I got an extremely used one and started to clean it and look for spare parts, big job and big headache as I can not find spare parts for it! Similar disc from other brands also not available, they have 13mm (12.7mm or 1/2") bore and I do not like to use reducer as the reducers I found are plastic!!! The blades are not in good condition and I have to use a dresser to straighten them if I can not find new ones, the transparent guards are missing, one of the tool rests is missing too. I have cleaned the old paint mostly and I need to spray it now plus a new power cable. Lots of time wasted for the love of having a European made bench grinder!!! and I am not finished, yet. Then I did search for Italian brands and I found "Nebes", something is good with Nebes and something is bad. They have a hole in the back of their disc guards for vacuum connection, but the tool rest does not look adjustable and their 5" one is much longer that the Kef Motor one, but the good point is I can get a new one for £180 which is fully Italian made and no waste of time to look for spares.
