conalnugent
Hi new to thw forum here. Just bought a new dewalt dw908 torch and was wondering about batteries. Is the battery for this torch specific to it or can other dewalt batteries be used for it and if so which ones?It was an ebay bargain, 99p brand new in box no battery. DR99
Any of the 18v Dewalt stem pack batteries should work.

DR99
http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/dewalt-18v-battery-2-6ahA stem pack battery looks like that.http://toolguyd.com/dewalt-launches-new-20v-max-cordless-power-tool-platform/A slide pack is a newer style battery platform that Dewalt has moved on to. conalnugent
Ah yes. Was thinking it was this type. So pretty much any dewalt 18v battery this type will fit? Next question, is the chargers for the stem type all the same?

Javier
99p for a flashlight? Pounds? Pennies, pesos, rupees, dollars?Sounds expensive for a bare tool. Unless you already have some 18v (stem pack) dewalt tools, you would be better off with the 20v max (usa) or 18v XR (uk) led flashlight. Probably a lot cheaper flashlight that route plus you'd be in a future proof line up
DR99
99pence which is like a dollar store for us. It sounds like he's from the uk they call flashlights torches Javier. On to his other question you have to watch out Dewalt has 18v Lithium ion battery packs and you need a multi chemistry charger to charge those packs. Any nicad charger will work with an nicad battery pack. Dewalt did make a few Nihmh battery packs but they are rare and charge off nicad chargers anyways.
