Dremel Saw-max vs Jigsaw

I've owned the Saw-max now for over a year without using it once... Always thought it was better intended for cutting pipes and rough repair work, but since I've been doing research on the best way to do straight cutting for finished work, seems that there is much potential for it (as long as the wood is 3/4" or less.

Having said that, is there room for a Jigsaw now that the Dremel Saw-Max seems to work as a miniature circular saw?

Jigsaws can do curves.  Mini-circular saws... well, you might be able to force the blade into a curve without it binding up, but the result will be ugly.

For straight cuts - either will do well, especially if supported to keep them on a straight line.
