jameseh
Hi, Yesterday I bought the Makita brushless 4.0ah drill and impact driver set at the Home Depot. The impact driver it comes with is a XDT08Z But then later, I noticed you can get the XDT042 separately. It only has a 3.0 battery, but all the same specs as the XDT08Z ... Except it looks more modern with a better light and a transparent part by the chuck. So now I am confused. Is the impact driver in my set an old model? Should I wait and buy the set later
JimboS1ice
I believe the 08 is more powerful, the newer is the 09, so maybe the 042 is a newer lesser model. Jimbo Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

jameseh
ok that makes sense thanks so the set I bought has a newer looking drill, with a power indicator on the drill (not just the batter) and the newer LED light, but the impact driver is the older style. Weird. Too bad they dont include the newer XDT09Z driver
rrich1
08 and 09 are brushless. The 042 isnt. The 09 has 3 speeds for torque limiting. Vs the 08 is straight variable speed. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
