The 1865 is the newer, high output version that can drive the newer fuel tools like the chainsaw and the updated circular saw and the new sawzall. Biggie Posted November 30, 2018 Report Share Posted November 30, 2018 Don't quote me on this because I have zero experience but I thought the 1860's had some short comings and they found in some situations they weren't much better than the 5.0s. It just seemed like when milwaukee announced the 9.0's they said the 1860 was going to be released too but then they didn't release at the same time and I thought the word was that they were having some issues.
