  1. The catalog is cool. There is just something about old tools that is just plain awesome. I am not sure about the items above, I am not a welder. Tried it once and all most burnt down the garage.
  2. Are there any markings on it?
  3. Eric - TIA

    Hello all~

Welcome. Its good to have you here.
  4. Thats very cool. I am not sure the date, but wondering about the plastic case. It looks old, but the plastic case makes me wonder how old. I am not sure when they went from the metal case to plastic cases.
  5. Man I have no idea. That Craftsman might be worth something, a lot of collectors like the old Craftsman, but it depends upon the year.
  6. I have never seen that charger before. How long have you owned it? DId you check Home Depot?
  7. What a pain. I had a miter saw that i left outside for a while and it ruined the saw. All the metal pitted and wouldn't slide right. I tried to take it apart and fix it, but it just kept coming back. My guess is the same thing happened to yours. Why miter saws are a lot better no a days, they still use steel on parts of the table. There are even different types of stainless steel. My on recommendation is to try and take it apart more to see if you can see the lever that locks the table in place. Maybe you have some rust or something in there that built up and is stopping the table from oving.
  8. Good question. I never used that model before. Sounds like it might be the switch especially if it was working and then when not in use, it went bad. Sounds goofy, but have you tried it in another outlet, just to make sure your outlet didn't heat up and for some weird reason go bad?
  9. I have never tried that press, but have heard good things. The only bad things i heard about it, was having to move the belt all the time.
  10. Interesting. I would stick to what the charger says it can charge. What Ah hr ratings are the batteries? If they have a higher Ah rating then what the charger indicates, that might be blowing the fuse. To me if two chargers are blowing fuses, but everything else else such as the microwave works, it sounds like a compatibility issue. Sounds like the charger is working to hard and heating up causing the fuse to blow.
  11. I would go with craftsman. I have a bunch of their screwdrivers and love them. I beat on them and they hold up. They are solid and to me they feel great in my hands when using them. You can find a good sale on them once in a while and if you are a craftsman club member you can get even better deals
  12. They are the exact same tool except the r is factory reconditioned. You will see a couple different kits with the r version and might not have the battery or charger. I have seen the r with the charger and battery and as a bare tool
  13. Yes it can. The battery will charge both the 3 ah and the 1.5 ah lithium ion batteries
  14. There are bit pouches that work great for bits. Bosch has new carrying case, a tool storage system which we are reviewing soon that might be good.
  15. Yes you can cut wood, metal and PVC. Just make sure you have the right blade in the saw
  16. Ok. Just spoke with our craftsman rep as I am sure you don't want to wait until tomorrow. He said the charger will work with the battery, the c3.
  17. We are in Vegas and are talking with craftsman tomorrow about using the charger with that battery. As long as they are both lithium, you should be fine, but I can chech tomorrow. In regards to the reciprocating saw, it's not louder than any other cordless we have used. In terms of power, what will you be using it for? If you are a home owner doing small demo stuff, you will be fine. If your doing bigger contractor jobs, I would go with the Bosch, dewalt or makita. If you have other c3 craftsman stuff, it does make a nice addition to your tool line up.
  18. Craftsman have outsourced their tools for a long time to other companies, which started going to China. Some companies go to China and get good quality, like apple ipads. I would rather see it built in the US. Its the no name tools that go to China and get junk, like Harbor Frieght. The thing that scares me is Craftsman started with some of their lawn equipment being outsourced to china and they were garbage. Lots of problems with their trimmers, blowers etc. Hopefully they keep a tight watch on the power tools. I own the 75 anniversary which I think I bought in 2000 and they were made in China. The drill and saw still run great.
  19. Holy Cow that is awesome. How long did it take to make? Do you have pictures of the inside? Do you have closer up pictures of the wood etc? Man you did a great job on that.
  20. We just finished playing around with the Paslode with rogersroofing.com and this is a great nailer. We are going to upload the video soon and the review soon.
  21. All thoose sites are great websites. Toolsnob.com is another great website. A lot of great information. How do you like Harbor freight? Do the tools seem to hold up?
  22. I am in the palatine area. We usually hit the berlands there
  23. I posted it to our Dewalt site and found this out - Dewalt Batteries. They did shorten the "foot" to avoid the overhang w/ lithium batteries. The drill shell is pretty durable, I don't think you'll break it off.
  24. Goog question. I am going to post it in the Dewalt Owners group forum and see what they say. I don't have that drill anymore, so I don't have anything to compare it to
  25. Hey we are in the Chicago area also. Berlands is a great place. Do you live in the north or south suburbs? We spoke with Veto, they are actually making a new laptop bag. Not sure when they will come out, but hopefully they are cool.
