  1. Yup. Plus Dewalt started the topic so there is going to be lots of speculation!
  2. Mattias, I don't see anything wrong with those posts and to be truthful don't worry about it. If Dewalt has an issue with these I'm sure they'll let us know!
  3. Yup they do. Same basic tools altogether. My old Ryobi contractor saw and stand was identical to the Craftsman version. Ooooooh. Youth. It was soooooo long ago!
  4. I checked out the closeup pics and it looks just like my old Craftsman. I ended up selling it right after I got my Kapex to a flooring guy and I think I got $85 for it? I bought it for 129 at Sears maybe ten years ago?
  5. I used to have a Craftsman saw just like this for years. Awesome saw. Change the blade and bam! What an insane price!
  6. I've heard their routers are good but I've never tried one nor seen one in person. Supposedly Rockler carries their tools. Next time I'm up in Portland ME. I'll swing in and check them out.
  7. I'm not sure if this plays into this and I stopped subscribing to her but I was watching a video recently and her Sawstop cabinet saw is gone and she seemed to be using her Triton conversion table / saw kit.
  8. I just hope they come out with a 20v Brad nailer!
  9. Youch! That's Festool pricing right there! I just bought a new Maglight for my day job. Spent about $48 for the light and a 12 pack of d cells. Unfortunately it doesn't run on my Bosch batteries but dude. This thing is insanely bright! It'll be getting a lot of use over the weekend as I got assigned two shifts over in the Weirs over the weekend. If anybody is up, give me a shout! I might see you up there!! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7W3GDQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. Of and one more thing....the OP was just passing information along. There was no mod action taken against the OP, he was just passing along information he saw. Unfortunately because of the earlier issue with the stolen tool, we have to clean up any unapproved information releases. Just wanted to make that very clear! Thanks guys, Chris!
  11. Also....Jimbo hit the nail on the head. Just answering the direct question from the mod POV!
  12. Dwain, you are correct but we have been politely asked by one of our sponsors (read....Dewalt) who graciously donate tools to us for free giveaways to put a kabosh on early release news that has not been approved by Dewalt for release. I see where you are coming from but.....we like keeping sponsors too.
  13. Don't worry about it Not Carl! Somebody deleted the other post I just got rid of the quoted. Seriously, don't worry about it dude!
  14. Hey guys, just a shout out for Dewalt as there was a rep complaint, If there is any release information from the company purported or whatever please don't post it on the forums! I think a recent post may have crossed the line a lit.....way bit too much. Speculation is great but Dewalt does participate in outer giveaways and losing such a great sponsor would suck big time for us. You know.....unless Festool popped in! We got our pee pee slapped a while back for another member doing this! I deleted the quote commentary. Thanks! Chris
  15. I've got the framer and the finish gun in 20v, when the Brad comes.....my Ascension will be complete! In the interim though, Red will have to do. Besides with my track record of getting duds I figure I'll at least get my money back if this one craps the bed! But seriously, it looks like a well built tool.
  16. Hssssssss.......Shhhhhhhhhhhh.........hssssssssssss........shhhhhhhhhhh...... Boys......it's coming. I'm slowly turning the hardened tool users to a better machine........hssssssssss.........shhhhhhhhhhh.........once you embrace the power of the German machining and bask in its ever lasting light of perfection.........
  17. Yeah, I watched the video and laughed my butt off. I couldn't believe he didn't even finish the review. Complete bs. The guy is a total fraud. Besides, Eric and Dan did a great review of the tool as did Concord Carpenter. Regardless....the minute Dewalt introduces one, the one I bought will more likely be up for sale!
  18. Let's just say that though it received a bad review from an even worse reviewer, I still bought it
  19. Well.....I'm packing up my cardinals. You guys can all kiss my grits! Now? On to the trees! Gotta give dem we birdies a place to call home!
  20. The Hitachi has a really cool two stage sliding mechanism with no rear overhang. Fantastic saw and was one of my finalists but I ended up getting a Kapex on the recon sale so the Hitachi, the Bosch and the Dewalt got cut
  21. Ridgid makes a great outfeed support I think it's called the flip top. I've had one for about 8 years and it's fantastic and only costs like $25. That'd be perfect for support between the cars. As far as compact, you are right. I'd dare say the axial glide and the hitachi would be in that compact line up. I would highly recommend BigSkyTools. I've bought an "A" reconditioned tool from there before. It's basically brand new looks brand new. Here is a link for a recon slider in "A" condition for not too much more money. Hope this helps Rich! https://bigskytool.com/hitachi-c12rsh-12-sliding-dual-compound-miter-saw-with-laser-marker-reconditioned.html
  22. It's kind of hard to see but the far wall is where I keep my saw. I end up having a lot of room to make those short cuts off of long sticks!
  23. Oh and one more thing! I just read your placement of the saw. I put my saw at the end of my shop it gives it about ten feet either way without intrusion. Most sticks I cut are small but truthfully when I'm sizing down lumber the boards are normally 8-12 feet and I need to cut a small piece off. Five feet either way might be a problem for you. You could pick up a mobile stand from Ryobi for a few bucks and be able to move the saw from its resting place on the bench so you could trim down siding, base board, chair rails etc.
