  1. I'm with you. All I can think when I see that is "holy crap....I could use that wood for furniture!!!!!"
  2. Ha DR. My Dad was in the Navy. I was born in SC. My Mom is from NH where my parents met (posted at the shipyard for submarine overhaul) then they moved back to CA after I was born and he was posted down there in SC. Then back to NH where my last brother, Shane, was born. Then off to Maine then I came back to NH about 23 years ago. This world has never been the same since!
  3. Believe it or not, I used to live in Grass Valley and Marysville CA when I was a kid in the 70's. My Dad and brothers Kevin and Jeff were born in Northern Cali next to Mt. Shasta.
  4. Wow. Hippies hippies everywhere..... Lucky for your poh' boys ya'll got somebody from Cow Hampshire to keep this site legit!!!!!
  5. I will say the M18 saw is a good saw, I want the Fuel for the power however. I think the saw is good and I love Milwaukee and it did me quite, good for the projects I put it through, but (and God forgive me for this) I liked my Makita LXT and it had comparable power and the grip was better for my hand placement. So that being said, I wasn't blown away with it. I was blown away with my hammer drill, impact driver (both non Fuel and Fuel) and ALL of my M12 tools. I hope this helps but....if you can wait, I'd get the Fuel and icksnay on the non Fuel version unless you aren't planning on heavy usage. If you are using it for light work, occasional to regular DIY and don't need to blast through the thick stuff then you'll be just fine. Like I said, 2x, 3/4 ply, cement board no problems. Battery gets sucked up quick but the Makita was the same way. And I'd take Milwaukee tools over Makita six days a week and twice on Sunday!
  6. Are you talking about the Fuel or non Fuel M18? I had the non Fuel M18 and it was a decent cordless saw. I did like my Makita one better but....I will be getting the Fuel version which is supposed to be much better. I will say I've cut 2x, 3/4 plywood and even cement board with no issues. The ergonomics on my Makita LXT were better for me but I am not a. Makita guy.

  8. Sorry to here that Frankie, that sucks! That's why i stick to my KHS Freeride and my new Scott Speedster 20. Don't have to worry about four hundred plus pounds coming done on me at speed! I hope this doesn't cost too much. The arm...well dude, that what stories are made from!
  9. Congrat DR....I'm working my way up but it'll take am awhile to catch up to you! Conductor....well that just ain't happening !

You are one fortunate dude. Kapex for me is a pipe dream right now. Maybe in a year to two'
  11. Nice table KWC! Are you going to put a fence on it or just clamp one on? Also, love the VW vans!
  12. I'd love to get some Red Wings though!
  13. I've had these Rocky's for 12 years. There not on construction sites but I wear them all year. Not sure why I got called a jack booted thug but....oh well!!!!!!!!!

    New Job

Congrats on the new job! Get the compressor, they're so nice to have around!
  15. I can't attest to the ride but it looks awesome. The mechanics say the thing is solid and only requires a little maintenance.
  16. I'm not sure if he removes them or drives a different truck during the drier months though.
  17. I took this this winter. The guy owns a small mountain two towns over from me and drives up it all winter!
  18. I disagree. First off, you don't mention Festool. For shame!!!!!!! I mean really....that cuts so deep dude! Also, the best circular saw I have ever had and still have is my Makita Hypoid Magnesium. Although now that I think of it...My TS55REQ IS THE BEST!!!!!! The Makita saw would cut down to China. But....they may have been the first....then what???? Just stopped. A new tool here and there. No battery improvements and, when I had ALL Makita, I started seeing better battery life from my brothers Milwaukee's. Plus metal ratcheting chucks that didn't slip. My friends use Dewalt's with no issues in the battery department (I mean aside from them being Dewalt's.....yes Ram vs. Chevy.....although c'mon seriously....Ram!) The fuel gauges are essential. Especially for me as a DIY guy. My tools can sit for a couple of weeks and I would like to know when I got to the farm or even up a ladder that my batteries are up and running. I liked my BTD141 but the batteries sucked. I bought my BHP452 based on and old TiA review back when Makita was innovative. But times changed, tools started to evolve and ...I sold my gear, switched to Milwaukee and now have kept a lot of Milwaukee but am with Festool. I base my comments on my experience. Milwaukee has stepped up to....(and on occasions steps too far....seriously????scissors?) the plate and really pushed the boundaries. Sounds like Makita might finally be getting their heads out of the sand, but I'm not switching lines for a while. Good tools, great looking girls, cool race stuff but....too late.
  19. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha now that's funny! On the train of thought I should ask Rochester to buy about five hundred of these so my taxes would go down supporting all those "full time employment baby makers"
  20. Eeeeewwwwwwwwwww there goes my appetite
  21. Wow....you guys are getting to know me!
  22. Also....Makita....where the heck have you been? Try improving your line. Put more money in tools and the important stuff. Racing is cute....you Makita Seniorita's are smokin' but c'mon! This hammer drill may be a super winner but fashionably late might work in Hollywood, but I don't own a tux.
  23. I'm still okay with my line up right now. I can't see buying into an antiquated line up that has not shown much promise in advanced or innovation. Like I said earlier, I nearly snapped my wrist with the old Dewalt hammer. Now I was wrong in its application but I thought at the time...."cordless is better my lily white New England As$" that darn drill had more power than I do. So, Makita has a powerhouse....sure...but Regopit is absolutely right, in the end it's beats per minute not inch pounds. That old Dewalt was not high in inch pounds either and still had some serious enough torque with bpm to what I asked of it. Now for all you Dewalt guys....this isn't an affirmation from Chris that "OMG Chris is finally going yellow".....My God in Heaven....NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Hahahaha......oooooooops! CPO sent out an email. I guess the original add was for two 1.5 ah batteries plus two NiCad PLUS a flashlight! They corrected it pretty quickly. Nice find DR! I'm all set with this one, if I were going to buy one I'd get the regular kit, that is a nice drill....for a Dewalt
