    Trailer jack

I was messing with my trailer this weekend and had a thought- am I the only one that would buy a battery powered trailer jack? I'm sure I could modify the crank to work on a drill, doesn't take much force.... but how about an engineered solution? 20v, 60v, 120v who knows.... might be possible to have a remote battery even as many people have tool boxes on the trailer.
  3. Left of the circ. saw looks like the drywall gun with attachment? Ideas? right of the table saw- metal cutting saw or track saw? By the blower there the tall shape that looks like handles and wheels tough system shaped vac or strangely shaped jackhammer on a trolley? side note- I think I see the threaded rod cutter and planer. Why in the world would they go flexvolt??? I am really surprised at the direction they seems to be going- seems like duplication. I had much higher hopes for "worlds first" items. Cordless standup band saw, drill press, tile saw, 120v table saw, concrete saw, plate shears, air compressor, shoot even a microwave/refrigerator combo with attached lazy boy or something!? Not more blowers and drills and impacts. Who needs a 20 lb impact driver or wrench!? Final rant item- under the recipe saw it looks like an impact driver (12v shape) with a really small battery or really large. SSE. Thoughts?
  4. +1 LED... but don't wait, it could be a decade. just buy the bare too and enjoy it!
  5. Just got mine yesterday from CPO. i bought it in July with the 15% off coupon. Me+3 carpenters and a VP stood in our warehouse and played with it for a while - flippin' awesome. Cut right through some old 2.5" oak crane matting, pine lumber, plywood, everything we could throw at it. Didn't even slow down. I was also surprised how nice the stock blade was! I will say... that sucker ain't light! I can only imagine with a 9.0! Also interesting side note, seems to me that the 6.0 FV battery is much more than 3x the size of the 2.0 20V batteries... strong incentive in my opinion to only buy a couple FV batteries and then only the compact size 20V in the future.
  6. +1 drill press and router table (preferably 60v max with a cord.... i know, greedy!)
  7. 20-> 60 40-> 120 so you can have two 40v batteries totaling 4ah (or higher) of 120, or two 60v batteries totaling 2 ah of 120. plus you can put bigger cells in a bigger battery. id say if this were being read by Dewalt they'd mark my idea off the storyboard!
  8. I know there's a cordless welder, and the power station. I just can't help but think there's no reason not to turn the 40v into "flex-max" or something like that. Instead of a 2AH 60V it could be a 2AH 120v... or more! Same principle as the Flexvolt but starting with bigger batteries with bigger cells. Multiple sets of series cells in parallel. Like the backpack blower on crack. To me, in this case, the limiting factor would be size... a 15 lb battery would make a hand operated tool a bit unwieldy. On The other hand, a mower that could have two or three of these would have a TON of power and run time. Bigger stuff like mowers, air compressors, a welder, 42" fan, negative air machine, etc. that are already on wheels might really be feasible. Maybe even getting a 30-60lb breaker? Not sure, I'd have to look into the power draw of the different items.
  9. Just a thought, but they took 20 V to 60 V… Why not take 40 V 120 V? 2x 40v packs would give you a TON of juice and power.... sure it'll weigh a ton and a half but it's on wheels already... I'm imagining a new mobile power station to run the welder off of! Or maybe a whole Job trailer… Just kidding..,. For now…
  10. Both! But I'm holding out for the 120v table saw... my old delta may be older than me, 450 lbs, and LOUD.... but it works well enough to wait!
  11. Slow doesn't matter as much when you have 6 charging! Perfect for putting in a service truck or landscaping truck. Charge all day. Plus, it encourages you to buy more batteries.... definitely have to agree I would like a 6 or 12 port charger for storage/trickle charging (even if they say li-ion doesn't need it).
  12. I have used both in the past with mixed results. We do a lot of overhead drilling in hospitals, industrial items, etc. it's a double edged sword- lots of piping in the way/working around, so the hollow bits are nice because they have a limited size impact vs the surface, but the hollow bits don't seem to work as well drilling vertically. we are currently in the Hilti rental program for our sds drills and they're up shortly, so I'd like to get one and try it before it's too late and we have to buy a dozen at once and hope they work well!
  13. It's Dilloncorr. Sorry for the delay. Work got busy.
  14. Just got a UPS notification for a shipment from CPO commerce! I thought, YES, FINALLY! MY SAW SHIPPED. But then i remembered that I bought a CPO Hunter fan last weekend. Sure enough... its the fan. Any one hear an estimated ship date yet? Are we going to get these as they roll off the production line or is there some giant cargo container lost at sea full of hundreds of our tools????
  15. With the 15% off from the fourth, plus the 10% off (assuming it will actually be 8.5% off) taking the total to 23.5% I guess I can't complain too much. BUT this is bull. I want my freakin' saw.
  16. You could be in my boat.... Took the 15% off at the fourth. Now here I am half a flippin' month after the "ship date". No saw. No free tool. No peace!? I call and ask for a shipping update... "Imminently". I don't know about you.... But imminent apparenty has a different meaning to me. I call and ask for the free bare tool (15% isn't THAT much...) "sure, only if you are willing to cancel and re-order".... At the back of the line! Even though CPO isn't paying for that free tool.... Just crap!! I'm about ready to cancel my order and call acme to see if they will match my order on a promise to only deal with Acme from now on.
  17. Have you used the 20V? not sure there is much need for a higher voltage? On another note... not sure how CPO and other websites can pre-order saying they will ship 8/23... and then tell me yesterday we are atleast another week out... drives me nuts!!!!!! Any one else heard any new about the availability of the 60V SDS? My company is in the market for a SDSMax, and a couple plusses, but there has to be a dust extraction option. We have a Hilti which is great but ungodly expensive. The Extractor for the 20V looked like a more feasible ($) option. (assuming this will fit) http://www.dewalt.com/products/power-tools/dust-management/dust-extractors-and-vacs/dust-extractor-for-1-20v-max-sds-hammer/d25303dh
  18. I still think it would be a blast to give it a shot. We do some work in older hospitals/medical schools where clay tile was used as filler. I can imagine everyone's face when we cut a door and lintel in straight!! I wonder how the alligator would handle plaster on metal lathe?
  19. I think you're both right.. In a way. It sucks that they come out with 40v and then 60v... But I do they're different focuses. After handling 60v batteries and 40v side by side there's no way I'd buy 40v. On the other hand if I owned a landscaping company and had my guys constantly charging 60v batteries... I'd lose money! Bottom line though is these have their place... Whether they turn out successful is up to industry adoption. Personally I think the "cord replacement" and "gas replacement" lines are partially marketing BS. Who is really going to reach for a battery powered tool when chopping up a 60' tree 2' in diameter or production lines? All the lines are "commercial" and they all have competitors with pros and cons. Personally I'm really glad I don't have to use a SDS Max drill with a 5lb 40v battery, and don't have to pony up for a Hilti! Back to the real question here... Any other innovative ideas? 3D printer? Beer cooler? Microwave? Sump pump? Drain snake? Negative air machine? Upright vacuum? Walk behind floor sander? There's got to be 100 applications for a higher torque motor or longer run time (20v high AH) I can't be the only one thinking about this...
  20. Or they can brag about having a bigger line up with extremely low design costs by taking the 18v motor and changing it to 54v plus some minor updates.... I did ask the rep about the lack of 40v compatibility, but he stayed with the same line of "different purposes, different focuses" and how landscapers need more run time, not more force. Makes sense, but I'd be pissed if I had bought in already. I complained about having bought a corded joist drill recently and he said to return it- that they have a 90 day return policy required for resalers. Seemed like poor customer etiquette to me.
  21. My company does alot of hospital renovations... if the Vac has HEPA filters we will be in heaven. I just hope that somehow the concrete saw ends up having a noise reduction as dramatic as the table saw. They had the small 581 vacs hooked up to the table saw and miter saw today and you could hardly hear the table saw over the vacuum. Far cry from my 10+ year old Delta at home... that thing sounds like jumbo jet taking off. Almost have to open the garage door to even use it! I pre-ordered the circ saw from Acme (or CPO.. can't remember which) when their 15% off was valid. After a hands on today i can't wait! I did ask about a bigger breaker (like a 60 lb) and he didn't know anything about one. Probably a pipe dream, but one can hope!
  22. No model numbers, ETAs were sketchy. Sounded like he was either not "in the loop" 100% or things are still fluid. Several comments implying EU only to start, or US only to start, but not sure which products were in which camp.
  23. Spoke with a rep today at the Flexvolt demo. We were discussing the future products for the 60/120 lines... A few items that came up below. What else do you want to see? - 120v dust extraction vac - 60v sds+ Drill - 60v sds max drill - concrete saw (wet dry) voltage unknown - backpack vacuum voltage unknown - 60v blower - 60v trimmer - 60v chain saw - air compressor voltage unknown - track saw - chop saw What I'd like to see (not saying they're all feasible...): - 55 gallon drum pump - metal pickup tool (electro-magnet on wheels) - router / router table setup? - mag drill - mounted bandsaw/bandsaw with stand - 120v table saw 10" - 60v cord attachment (with transformer) - job box temp lighting- vaults or toolboxes, string lights? - box fan (60V) - drum fan (120V) - portable A/C unit on wheels? - dehumidifier on wheels? - stand-up vacuum - buffer - belt sander (60v) - mower! - jump starter for cars/bobcats - tile saw - vacuum pump for refrigeration systems - power washer
