  1. Ive been looking at getting the Carhartt bag for a while now...what is the price point? I have had excellent experience with Carhartt. I bought a pair of their pants a few months ago and had been doing some work on a job site in an old decommissioned Psychiatric Hospital in Illinois and wore them pretty regularly. They started to wear quite fast and developed holes in the knees and my back pocket where I stored my wallet. Well anyways long way around the barn I wrote them a letter describing my problem and whaaaabam! New pair of pants in the mail within the week.
  2. Awesome setup....I can tell you have some quality tools in there!
  3. Hello all!!! Just wondering what you guys keep in your car as far as tools/emergency kit. There is nothing worse then having a roadside emergency and saying to yourself gee I wish I had that tool sitting in my garage in my car right now. I will tell you the first thing I did was put my 2 1/4 ton floor jack in the trunk. There is nothing worse that getting a flat and trying to mess around with the inadequate Chinese made stock jack. Any examples or ideas of what to keep in your car/truck would be great!
  4. Never been a huge fan of Kobalt tools and I cant even tell you exactly why. Ive never had a bad experience with one. Maybe its the color scheme lol. I buy them mainly because Lowes gives a 10% military discount which is awesome. I wish Menards would do the same. The only time I get something at Menards Its because Lowes didn't have it. C'mon Menards get your act together. Its not that I think I am entitled to a discount I would just like to see them get involved in appreciating what our nation's young men and women have sacrificed for this great country to we can continue to shop and buy items labled "made in America"
  5. I keep a klein 5 in 1 in my tool bag and it gets me through just about any job that I run in to. However, for the price, selection and warranty I think a good old fashion set of craftsman screwdrivers is the way to go. It Depends on how much you are turning your wrist with a screwdriver everyday but for the every day handyman I wouldn't hesitate to go with this proven brand.
  6. Tim here from Illinois. Love what you guys at TIA are doing! Honest, informative, helpful reviews! Anyways I am a Captain in the Illinois Army National Guard and am currently in command of HHB 2nd Battalion 122nd Field Artillery Regiment out of Chicago IL. On the civilian side I am a carpenter for a DCFS run institution for under privileged kids. I am also a tool fanatic!
  7. Id like to see a review on floor jacks. Maybe a jack fight? lol
  8. I never go anywhere without a couple of different sizes of my tongue and groove Channel Locks in my tool bag. I prefer the straight jaw over the V jaw. Just seems that they are a bit more versatile. V jaws are great for grabbing on to pipe though. My favorite in the line up is the small 6.5 straight jaw. Fits nicely in your pocket and can get you out of a lot of sticky situations. The one downfall as mentioned before is the finish. It does wear quite quickly however I have never had it impede the tool's performance. Definitely an A+ brand. A tool that you only have to buy once in a lifetime.
